OT Don't do what I did

Last night I was looking for a response in Outlook and found 1200 "unread" emails. I deleted them all including from the Deleted folder, thinking they were duplicates. I went into my Yahoo account and all my emails are gone! I sure didn't know Outlook and Yahoo were connected, rats! I had emails saved since before 2005 that included pictures, recipes, plant trades, info on plants, family stuff, jokes, etc., etc. :-(

If I offered you anything come warm weather, please remind me. Aside from the tomato seeds (Kylie, Edna, Dorothy), I know I have Marian and Theresa on my list for other stuff.

Kicking myself.....

Oh no Eloise :-( That is horrible! I am so sorry. I know how that is when you loose info that you saved and think you have it 4FR. I do not use Outlook because it is a nasty thing. I made the mistake of saying one time to connect outlook to my Incredimail, now when I boot the computer it ALWAYS starts Incredimail connected to Outlook but it is useless because like I said I do not even use Outlook. Big mess everytime I boot.

Always make sure the ignition wire is grounded well away from the spark plug hole. I remember doing the same thing with a chainsaw on the bench. Didn't hurt the saw but the fire extinguisher powder was a pain to clean up. Here is a link that might be useful: Lawnmower fire

He didn't seem to be dishonest...unless he saw the smashed condenser and was shining me on hoping I wouldn't see it. I doubt it. My wife and I were concentrating on the bumper which looked ok to us, I assume he was too. From an insurance standpoint it wouldn't matter whether on private property or public road. Car 'a' striking car 'b' is a claim no matter where it occurs. Of that I'm sure. I'm out of luck because I didn't get his info at the time so have no way to identify or contact him now. I could file a claim with my insurance company but I won't. Didn't get an estimate but the damage is probably close to my deductable. Fortunately...I guess, everything still works fine. If the condenser would have puked out r134 at the time at least I would have seen the damage. Oh well. Maybe reading my story will help someone else in a similar situation someday.

Oh, how terrible! Sounds like you have a sliver of metal in your finger. It might take a day or two for it to work its way out again. You might try soaking your finger in warm water, several times each day, and then even after the sliver comes out, to help it heal a bit faster. I actually make it quite hot, and find the heat soothing.

That stinks. I have loads of emails saved and my DH keeps telling me to put them in a folder. I just don't know how. lol Don't you have a icon for recently deleted mail? I've been able to retrieve emails that were accidently deleted using it.

O no, that sux El, I'm sorry that happened.

Karyn, once they are deleted (expunged) from the deleted (trash) folder they are usually gone for good.

I never liked Outlook..When I got this comp I never even set it up. For some reason when I log onto my user acct lately, I keep getting a lil pop up window saying something about Outlook, I just 'X' it out.

My main email just updated recently, and now after so many days it gets rid of emails..even if they havent been opened. I just realized the other day that alot of mine I were saving, yet didn't put into folders, were gone...gone forever..

Thanks all. I'm a bit calmer now, and found that my folders were spared! But, I still lost lots of valuable emails that I never put into the different folders. I NEVER use Outlook. I had responded to a listing on craigslist for some bulbs and Outlook is what came up. That's why I went into Outlook to see if the person had responded, which they didn't. I have no clue how Outlook is connected to my Yahoo address, but it is.

Laura found a folder on her Mac one time, that had all the photos, that were also in iPhoto. Figuring that they were duplicates, she deleted them all, went into the trash and deleted them again. When she went into iPhoto, it was empty... all of our photos were gone! We immediately took the computer to the Apple store, where they installed a program (about $125.00) that retrieves deleted information. They were able to get back most of the deleted photos, much to our relief. The trick was to attempt this before saving more information on the computer... the more you save, the less likely that you will be able to find what you lost. This may be an option for you, if you do not delay.

Thanks Bob, I will check with Best Buys where I bought my computer and see what they say. Losing tons of photos would hurt!
