I've had Coral Chalice a number of years --- like its different color pattern and softness. Blends well in the pastel area with other colors. Not a large bloom. Rose Teall is definitely on my want list from photos I've seen. From the photos at DvsGard. I really like Solo Flight because of its soft colors. Deep Dark Secret would be stunning next to a flower echoing its beard color! Is one of your daylilies pumpkin? Dandy Candy won a top Italian award and in one photo it was a stunner. Now I look more carefully at the hybridizer. If I've been disappointed by others by that person, I tend to pass until seeing in person.

Sylvia, The American wisteria cuttings I took chose not to root for me. I can get some fresh cuttings the day of the swap, or I can try to get some cuttings in the spring. Also, I have solid green Algerian ivy and variegated. Which would you prefer? How many hibiscus would you like? I have 6 ...

Roselee - When I was a kid in Indiana, my neighbor had a never-fail display of Red, Yellow, and Orange Rans in front of her house every spring. It was breathtaking. I remember getting in trouble at 5 yrs old for picking a bouquet of them...lol I am considering Mixing Salmon and White for the bed by my porch, but I think I want a multicolored display closer to the road. Question - Do they multiply well for you? Gardenspice - I have a soft spot for flowers that bloom for a short period (although a month for rans is good enough for me) For me, that short flush of blooms is extra rewarding to my efforts and the 11 months of waiting makes it that much sweeter. LOL, I also have the same philosophy about once-blooming roses, although I admit to needing a few continuous bloomers to keep me going. MissInformation - In colder climes, Forsythia defoliates in fall and blooms in Spring before it leafs out again. To me, the bare spray of branches add character to the winter garden, although some may say it's too bare for them. Down here, I'm not sure, but I think it would defoliate much later and bloom earlier. You also asked about what else I'm planning to plant. Sedges (Carex spp.) Cascading Oregano (Origanum libanoticum) Texas Mountain Laurel (someone here suggested it - Thanks!) The Lily (and a couple others) is for my container display. I am removing about 5 Chinaberries (storms took care of 3) and am open to suggestions of what to replace them with. 2 will be replaced w/small shade trees, but the rest will be shrubs. They are in open sun until about 4:30, then light shade. I am also considering Pulmonaria for shade, but I think it may just melt in the heat. There is also an herb garden, vegetable garden and native garden in the works. I'm going to plant some cool season veggies this fall. I was in your shoes not too long ago! Still not quite finished though. Check out the thread I linked. I asked about things to remember too and found this very helpful. How much are you responsible for buying? I took care of just about everything visible, so I had a long list! Check return periods before you start buying. I wanted to have some time left to return stuff after the GC started in case I got the wrong thing, wouldn't fit, etc. many places are 30 days, so I ordered most things 10-14 days before demo. I wanted it all on site to refer to specs if needed as well as not slow anything down. Lowes and HD have a more generous policy, so I got a ton of little odds and ends there, like outlets and covers, so I can return the excess. Also saved me when my $180 fan they promised would work with the switch I had in fact did not work, so at 6 weeks I can take it back! Here's what I ordered that I remember: ELECTRIC: recessed lights and housings (Ecosmart from HD, takes a while so order ahead), UCL (Environmentallights.com, took about a week), dimmers/switches/outlets/covers, GFI outlets (be sure any dimmers are compatible with the lights you have/buy), shallow metal junction boxes for hardwiring UCL and plugmold, blank covers for shallow junction boxes SINK: aside from the sink, GD, new GD connector, GD flange (wanted a nicer one than it comes with), strainer for drain, air switch, DW leak pan, sink grids/accessories, place for little veggie scrubbers, sink cabinet liner for drips CABINETS: door pulls, any interior organization you want attached by cabinet guys, garbage cans/bins for new design, any utensil holders/etc you want to use, drawer/shelf liner if needed MISC: paint, trim, flooring and subfloor if needed plus any prep materials, UV window film to protect new floors if needed, fan or pendants if needed, anti fatigue mat, walk off rug at door, fire extinguisher I also got some great microfiber cloths at Lowes for wiping the cabinets and a new mop, broom, and dustpan to motivate myself to keep it all clean (the old ones were 11 years old and cheap, so it was time!). Seems like I had a lot more here, but a lot of it was the cabinets, and then some was for the powder room, so this might be about it.
