Gooooooood morning, good morning!

Kristy, Kylie, Elizabeth and Karen you all know already what I mean when I say that it is the best feeling deep inside when you get to meet another GW buddy. Especially when that buddy grow into becoming your friend!

We had to meet at Ikea since this was the only place I was confident of finding by myself lol We laughed so much and time was really not long enough. But Deb and her daughter Kim, whom I was so happy to meet also, had way to much to do still. Me...I had to hit the road so I would not be driving in the dark to long. Thank goodness I was already in Killeen, the next town over from my town I live in, when I got lost roflmao.

Dear friends and buddies, IF you get a chance to meet another GW buddy. GO FOR IT!! I put a lot of...oh I wait to meet here till I loose some weight. Or I am scared to drive to Austin by myself. Or I got so much seeds to plant...yes I put all that aside. Because it was all about meeting my good friend!Another GW buddy I dearly love.

Eloise yes please do tell about what the *shooting* is all about lol. There is no fireworks inside city limits. Now if I had Maddy I would go somewere with her to see it. I get to call my german relatives 7 hours before WE have New Years. Barb I can see them with pistols and shotguns...From the New years Celebrations in Germany I am glad that I do not have to be out there anymore. Way to many people get hurt. It is a lot nicer to just look and watch the fireworks. Now that I am more set in my ways lol Bob are you ok again? I still love it that you shared that special party with us. Now 2009 can come. After all the road trips will be great and you have it a lot easier to stay in touch with the ones you love...US :-)))))) Dorothy who won the paintball fight? Sure would like to know. Do you play also? So nice that they are coming back to start the New Year with you! What else do you need! gg so sorry to hear that you are sick :-( and have to work. I hope that you will get better soon. The softnes of the picture came about because I am playing with the new camera lol. Kristy yours are sure taking their time. How far along are they? I ones read that a Amaryllis should always get the stem first, bloom and then have the leaves grow. Only the one from Deb did that. Is there a difference? Susan yes I do NOW. I am doing catch up on all the things I had no time to do while getting ready for Christmas. This one is called Appleblossom and was a medium tall growing Amaryllis. Which made it a LOT easier because the stalk did not want to fall over. No tying it on the basket lol. So Susan I will see you here on New Years Eve and we party lol. Cause I think the kiss for me will come the next day since Hubby loves to fall asleep while watching TV . Which is ok for me. That way I can be here in peace rofl. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009 to ALL!! Lucy

awm : thank you for the sweet and supportive wishes. I sure hope your ride goes well. Two of the folks I am with have done that ride and loved it. We are indeed fortunate in the support we get from our families. tina thank you too. I will keep up the updates as it helps to clarify things in my head too :). I am glad you are enjoying it. golddust. we had flashing lights but it was just a miserable set of circumstances....hopefully not to be repeated. Glad you like my TALL tales. Sue yes it never has stormed today but we have had a fine time. We walked several miles to go to a Dollar Store and to stretch our legs. Time for a nap I think. Your trip sounds wonderful. I bet you will always cherish that time as will I this trip. Most likely won't do another as I don't want to leave DH this long again but this one time it is good. More later. c

Thanks, Wildchild for the invitation. I work out of town four days a week and have been doing so since February. This was when I started losing weight. Prior to this I worked at home and had WAY too much refrigerator access. While I am here I walk in the mornings before work between 45 minute and an hour and do a light weight work out. At home I am able to do a longer weight work out. I just use dumbbells. I have no scale access while I'm out of town so I don't weigh while I'm here. I find that if I don't get enough sleep I don't lose weight. Today I had grocery store sushi for lunch, I wish I had any kind of idea about the calorie count is in this stuff! I had a few fresh figs for dessert. Lots of water all day. I still have at least 50 pounds to lose. Seems like a long long journey sometimes. I really want to be thin right now! I didn't have any patience with WW, I hate sitting still for meetings! And I don't have the fortitude to go back several times and check out the different meeting leaders to see if one suits me better than another. One thing I have noticed about the WW (and many others as well) frozen meals is that the sodium content is rather high. I have just eliminated cookies, chips, crackers, bread and butter, and all fried foods, as well as ice cream. More vegies and fresh fruit and smaller portions. More exercise. So far so good. BarnMom

Thanks Lucy for the beautiful photo of you and Deb's first meeting! You are so right on about how we come up with excuses as to why we can't do whatever. Distance is no problem for me. O.k., who lives about 10 miles from my home so I can go visit you -- just kidding!

That is wonderful to meet other GW gardeners. I had a master gardener come down and visit my very new garden. We just hit it off too. I am going up there this spring for their master garden sale and than over to her gardens to visit. I cant wait...You two sure had fun...That is wonderful.....

You gals look like you had a wonderful time. It is so nice to get together with other gardeners isn't it.

I may one day get to go to Texas...so you gals be on the look out. ha ha. My hubby's hobby is trap shooting and there is always a big shoot in San Antonio...is that anywhere near you Kristy or Lucy?

I suspect nobody would be too thrilled to visit North Dakota eh?

San Antonio is about 2 hours if you go the back way. Let me know when you go. Always looking for an excuse to go to the riverwalk down there, lol. I would love to see North Dakota in the summer, lol. I actually have an uncle that lived there for a long time but never got to visit him. Watch out Bob I know the way to Florida too and really miss the beaches, lol.

Kristy I think you just scared Bob. lol But I was going to do the same by telling him that I can go anytime and visit my DD in Orlando and go visit you Bob :-)))))

AND all the nurseries around roflmao. Gosh I wish I would have been into gardening the first year I went to visit her! She has only been living there I think for about close to 3 years.

TJ the funny thing about life is, you never know WHAT it brings you and WHERE you end up! You are ONE reason to go and se ND too ;-)

Om my goodness are hubby and fiance will hit it off. Trap shooting. I dont know how many guns the fiance has I gave up. He has a hunting dog (2) he had professionaly trained she is a master hunter! Awards up the gazooe. He traveled with her all over for competition. Now she is on the internet and people buy their dogs that has her bloodlines in them. Remember fiance said we could come visit you this summer. I would love to see ND. One state I havent atually seen. LOL
I also would love to see all your girls in TEXAS. My brother who I heard from at christmas lives somewhere in the middle. lol big state. Sounds like he lives on a airfield. They have planes all over.....I wish we just had A GW Convention and met somewhere in the middle...That would be a blast....

I'm so glad that you were able to meet up with me on my way down to Austin and on such short notice too. I had such a good time and I agree, the visit was waaaaay too short.

Everyone, Lucy is just as kind and funny as she is here in the forum. Wish you all could meet her, she will keep you in stitches. The people at IKEA probably thought we were on something as much as we were laughing. We had the best time ever!!!

Barb, I'm with you, it would be a blast if we could have a convention somewhere so we could all meet. It would have to be a whole weekend because I know we would have such a good time visiting with everyone.

Barb, I can not wait to have you and your hubby visit this summer. It will be fun. Hopefully, my gardens won't be too weedy. he he. We have a board meeting today at 1:30 but I will probably give you a call after the meeting.

Kristy, Lucy, If I am ever out that way I will definitely let you know. I would love to meet you both. Know this though...I will HAVE to go greenhouse shopping while I'm there. I'm sure I will find so many cool things that we do not have here.

OH How did I miss this??? Great pic!!! Glad ya'll had the chance to get together...I am the worlds worst about leaving the property..LOL That is one of the things I am working on being better about... I would Love the chance to meet everyone here!!!
