Hi, the Houston Bromeliad Society would like to invite you to attend our program, featuring our special guest, Chester Skotak, who is coming on Feb.

19, 2008 to

our monthly meeting. More details follow:

Chester Skotak, a Texas native raised in Houston, attended Texas A & M, moved to Florida, and then drifted to Central America. He has lived and worked in Costa Rica for 29 years and has published a novel loosely based on his lifetime of collecting, breeding, selecting, and propagating rare and beautiful plants (particularly neos). The book, which began as a father's simple attempt to leave a lasting memoir for his children of who he is and why he chose such a reclusive lifestyle, evolved into an elaborate story of broad scope and deep insight.

He will talk about his book, Searching for Miss Fortuna: the Hunt for a Bromeliad (which he will have for sale for those interested), some of his hybrids, and answer any questions about bromeliads, etc.

For more information about Chester Skotak, visit his website at:

(_http://www.chestershttp://www_ (http://www.chesterskotak.com/) ) We hope that you will join us to welcome Chester home to Texas.

BS/H meeting: Tuesday, February 19, 7:30 p.m. in Herman Park at the Garden Center. It's located between the Museum of Natural Science and the Zoo.

We'll look forward to seeing you and any friends you'd like to bring.

Please share this info. with everyone who might be interested. Thank you.

Noreen
