This is a pretty good event. Show up early for best selection. It normally rains and is mostly outdoors. Lots of attendees, very good selection of various garden plants from many vendors. Not "Big Box store" type stuff. Usually a good source of Crinum and gingers.

Is it just me, or does it seem like bulb prices jumped a little from last year? Gosh... what I wouldn't give for a decent bulb budget this year! Nice list!

This event is a fundraiser for the Houston Garden Club, so they are bound to tack on a few $$ to each one. I know that these bulb prices are still a couple of $$ cheaper than most of the catalogs, so not a bad deal. I just looked at the assortment again and didn't get too excited by it.

Maybe last year was such a blow out year that I am being good, or will concentrate to my crosses for now.

Don't get me wrong, I have bulbs coming from a few orders, but not crazy (YET) like last year! Of course, last year took a huge jump when a bulb company sent replacements and extras to compensate me for some really bad luck. I think that added 8 bulbs to my collection that I didn't have already!

They have a bunch of passion vines I've been searching for, native stuff, citrus trees, daylillies...
There is now a link on the site to what is there and where. It's a fairly long document but loaded quickly.

Can anybody buy few bulbs for me please. I can't order. Ordering last date is aug 1 2009. I am late. I will pay whatever the shipping charges are. I am interested in 2 bulbs, Exotic peacock and black Pearl. I really appreciate your help, if you can ship the bulbs.

Sorry, I am not going to the event as it's about 35 miles from my house on a work day. If you preordered, they only had pick up available, no shipping. I am sure that there are other sources of Exotic Peacock and Black Pearl available.

I didn't see anything on the list that I just had to have and have a huge deadline at the office at the ends of the week. Maybe someone else can help you find these bulbs.

If the window guys don't show up I'm going. If they do, and I hope so much they do, I won't be going. I don't see any point in going on Friday cause I doubt if they'll have what I want by then. BUT, if I do go I'll pick up these 2 bulbs for you. I'll let you know Friday if I got them. It's about 55-70 miles from my house. But then, this is Texas and that's not a bad drive for us!
