Raised garden around established Morning Glory?

uncertainty

Warm greetings!

I have a trellis wall facing west off my covered patio. There is an established Morning Glory that has incorporated nicely along the trellis. It has spread out along the top third of the trellis wall, and it grows directly from native soil. I plan on building a 16" tall raised garden bed there which I will fill with my homemade compost. I'd really like to build the bed around the vine, so I can utilize the rest of the trellis wall, but I'm afraid this may damage the Morning Glory. Will this cause a problem for the plant, or will it be okay?
