Comments (3)ditto all of the above. I did a year's membership, and got some good 'newbie' information and magazine, a couple of tester products, and some seeds, and one book. The book was nice, and I was ok with the $9 investment for that, but the subsequent books they wanted $26 for. (And incidently, I found a partial set of these on eBay for about $4). Live & learn...it's ok, but not something I wanted to continue. I get more info here. If you DO decide to join, then decide to opt-out, you CAN cancel the books coming to your house (and they will send you a return label if you ask for one), and only the other stuff will come. But like I said, it was ok for 'starter' information; I'm ready to move on....See MoreAnyone bombarded with gardening club/magazine offers?
Comments (15)I have gotten Sunset magazine off and on through the years, and I know it's not solely a garden magazine, but I enjoy their gardening articles. It's nice that it also has info on travel and cooking. But Sunset's focus is the West, so if you're east of the Rockies, it's not great for you. I also received Fine Gardening for a year, and I did like it, but I didn't like the price. With Sunset, I usually take a break from subscribing until they send me the $12/year offer, and then I resubscribe. I got an email from Taunton Press recently, which publishes Fine Gardening, and they have a special publication I'm interested in. It's called Great Gardens, and it's a soft-cover (magazine-style, I think) publication that has photos from the nation's "top 12" gardens and instruction on how to emulate them. I'll put the link below for it, but their site is not loading at this moment. Should clear up soon. Here is a link that might be useful: Great Gardens publication...See MoreHAVE: Many gardening books for vegetable books...
Comments (4)Hi, I was interested in the Garden Design Book by Fine Gardening. If you had a picture to send that would be great. My trade list (unfortunately very short): Falcon Guide to Native Prairie Plants - Nice color photos with detailed plant descriptions. Organized by flower color. Most native plant guides have few or no color photos and usually have hand drawn pictures which is why I find this book really worthwhile. I have 2 extra copies of it in mint condition. Gardening with Native Plants - Sally Wasowski. I have an extra copy of this. Pretty decent condition. Lots of color photos. An actual how to book. Garden Design Magazine: Feb/Mar 2004 through Jan 2007 (only missing three) I wish I had some vegetable gardening books to trade. Currently, I have only one very old and abused copy of the Search for the Wild Asparagus. It's pretty damaged though....See MoreNational Home Gardening Club?
Comments (4)Totally agree...heck those "postive" messages seemed pretty fake...they were exactly formated like the newletter they sent out. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an advertising plant...what dishonesty-what is this world coming too? And I always thought garden people were the nicest-lol Nathan...See MoreTam2001
