Comments (20)Yes Andrew...in most, if not all states, trapping and relocating an animal is a big no-no. Sure, people do it but if you were to get caught doing it... There are lots of arguments for and against killing the darn things. But like Gary above says, I too..."have no patience for an animal that will ruin a whole tree of fruit at one time." I already go thru extraordinary measures trying to protect trees and plants in the garden. My mother-in-law's maprangs were loaded until squirrels just recently wiped them out. She even spent time wrapping the fruit. Unfortunately, being the good Buddhist that she is, she refuses to kill the pests. I have no such issues....See Moreare ground squirrels eating my seedlings?
Comments (3)We don't have rabbits or deer. We do have gophers, but I did not think they would go for the leaves only, more the roots. Also, I forgot, whatever it is got all my carrot tops a couple weeks ago as well. Didn't touch the beats or turnips. So if it was insects (we have not seen any animal prints) what should I do? I was using diatomaceous earth but as that gets wet when I water. I have also sprayed the seedlings with neem oil, which was kind of helping. Any other suggestions? I wanted to put hay down in my beds around the veggies but I wasn't sure if that would just encourage more insects......See MoreNeed help to chase away squirrels from my bird feeders
Comments (4)Squirrels on bird feeders is an age-old problem. You need to purchase squirrel-proof feeders (I have some that work great) or install squirrel baffles above and/or below the feeders. Google squirrel-proof and squirrel baffles....See Moredon97
