Jodi, it's great to hear from you. Beautiful photos as always. I'm especially curious about the variety of rose that's nearly black. It's two photos above the photo where you are holding a red rose in your hand... Would love to know what variety that is.

That would be Burgundy Iceberg, Ryan. It's one I'm really impressed with!

It's planted in the sunny end of the Shade Garden, and aside from a bit of mulch, got no pampering last winter... and as you know, we had a very frigid winter! The Shade Garden is at the northwestern edge of the property where the two roads intersect. There's a wicked wind blowing through that area almost all the time. And there sits Burgundy Iceberg... blooming as though it were the ideal spot to be!

The one I'm holding in my hand is Quadra... another beauty!

To be honest, I've got so many rose names floating around in my head right now, I couldn't tell you what half of them are without looking at the tags! Roses have become almost as much of a passion as Hippeastrum bulbs!

There are many that haven't bloomed yet... I'll try to get photos as they open!

Is the coloring in the photo off, or is the Burgundy Iceberg really that dark? Its a stunning color, that's for sure!

Jodi, just beautiful. That rose in the 14th picture looks like one from my parent's garden I remember called Mardi Gras. It changes colors as it opens. Could it be the same kind? Alana

Beautiful as always Jodi! The little white Swan is very cute. You have all kinds of fun stuff going on there! Lover all the roses and it looks like those Lambs Ears are getting out of the lines and knocking things over...haha! I love to touch those. The Alliums are fantastic! I sure wish I could get some to grow. I have planted them several times and not a bloom in sight...what dorks.

Cindee is right...it is hot on this tour...and she has the right train of thought for sure!

Good luck with the Roses. It will be so spectacular when complete that you will want to walk up and down that sidewalk over and over again!

Thank you so very much, my friends! I've put a lot of effort into these gardens... in fact, I just came in from cutting grass and rearranging the potted sale roses and plants. I'm tired, but happy!

Ryan, that's fairly close to real life color for Burgundy Iceberg... it's a beautiful deep burgundy!

Alana, that's Incognito, a miniature bi-color! It's gorgeous in person! That's a close-up, so it looks bigger than it is.

Frank, I don't know what to say about the Alliums, except maybe it isn't cold enough where you are for the dormancy they need? I just pop them in the ground sometime in fall... and in spring, there they are! Some are early varieties, some mid or late... but they're all lovely additions to the perennials!
