That is absolutely wonderful, and I can truly appreciate how hard you have worked to achieve this.

I am now on my second career. The first was FUN, and even though it tended to be an 80 hour a week (no life) job, I enjoyed what I did.

Then, I switched to a teaching career, knowing that I would be good at it, but quickly learning that I had to jump over constant hurdles. The first hurdle was getting a pink slip the first three years, every year until I was tenured. Finally, I went through that and took the graduate courses required, Aced those, then that third year, they told me I had to pass the PRAXIS for math, and it had been 30 years since I had Calculus. I studied hard all summer for this test and took it. It wasn't until a week or two before school that I learned that I did pass, well above what was needed, but I sweated that entire summer, not knowing if I could return to my school of choice and be allowed to teach.

I am now tenured, and I assure you that even if I weren't, I would never be laid off even though there are threats of teacher layoffs.

It's a tough world out there right now, but NURSES will always be needed just like 'highly qualified' math teachers who really do teach.

Off my soap box! Just do your best to care for those in need and your life will be fulfilled with many rewards in your heart.

After all, it is your heart that really matters.

I feel like a Mom watching her son graduate... we've all followed your schooling, heard about your studying and all your tests... and now, here you are... you've come out the other end with such a wonderful achievement! I'm very proud of your accomplishment, Nurse Chaz!

I can't imagine you'll have any problems with State Boards or anything else you come up against. Your study habits are obviously good ones, and you've set your mind to seeing this through to the end, which is really a new beginning! I'm so excited for you, I could just burst! I can imagine how elated you are, and how proud Chase must be... what a wonderful announcement!

Congratulations... and as Cindee said... I NEED A NURSE! Not just any nurse will do... I WANT NURSE CHAZ! :-)

Life just doesn't get any better than that, Chaz! You have earned the right to be proud of yourself and your accomplishments! And you have certainly earned the right to putter around your gardens!

My college son is studying for finals as I write this, and though he says he feels the pressure, he's looking forward to taking those tests and doing his summer work at 2 separate pharmacies and one day a week at a hospital, plus another program he's in... I can't remember which. He's a hard worker, Chaz, like you.

Way to go, Nurse Chaz! If I ever get hurt or sick, I hope I'm on the east coast... I can't think of a better person to have as a caretaker. Your patients will be lucky to have you there for them. :-)

I extend all my sympathy to you. I hope you make it. We have a very high attrition rate, especially with our guys. Nursing school was a piece of cake compared to working. Good luck.
