I'd HAVE to hit the lotto... I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention! There's no way I can afford to save anywhere NEAR a hundred dollars a month! And to be quite honest, I'd rather eat glass, too, than leave Larry in charge of the poor furry kids! It's not that he couldn't, or wouldn't, handle their care... he's the best. It's that I'd never hear the end of it! Some of you may remember... last summer we were supposed to go to a wedding in The Netherlands... we couldn't go because flights were way over our budget! Plus, we have the dogs to worry about. I can't trust just anyone to care for these guys... bulldogs can cause a lot of damage in the wrong hands, and I don't mean to furniture! It's a lovely thought, Kristi... but one I'll have to put in my book of dreams. Unless something drastically changes, I'll probably never get the opportunity to do much traveling.

Yes, Thank You Kristi! And I agree on Sweet Nymph. Hope it will be available to us to purchase soon. Did you feel all of us breathing over your shoulder while you were photographing these lovelies? Well, you got the trip to Holland and I got the greenhouse I chose instead...it is all done but the electricity and water connections now and I am using a hose until Dh can get some boulders and roots out of his conduit pathway.

Alana, I took nearly 500 photos just at the show. That doesn't count amaryllis at the other pavillion (the specimens posted here). WHEW!! It's so hard to believe that I planned this trip for over a year after getting so excited about registering Gordie. Maybe some year we'll see him there for the judges to score! One of the judges did see photos and remarked that the bloom was really outstanding. I have looked into further propagation on a larger scale with the help of a commercial firm. Since I have the clones (from cuttage) and the offsets, I feel a little more secure in growing out bulbs for propagation. I think I still need to send a bulb to KAVB for them to grow in their test greenhouse/field. So...I'll be sending at least one baby away. Anyhow, it was quite exciting to go to Paris and Amsterdam, and then spend a few days in Lisse (pronounced like Lisa). I rode a bike all over and have the sore spots still to prove it (like the ankel bone that I smacked on the pedal). It was fun traveling alone as I was early to bed and early to rise. Had lots of flexibility and many times went to Plan B (and Plan C). I need to organize more photos, but have dug in at work. Sigh...the memories and photos will take me back in a heartbeat. Can't wait to venture out again! :-) Kristi
