I am MORE than remotely interested but I never get to go anywhere. Ben would pull his hair out if he were alone with the little ones and I would rather eat glass than take my children to Europe. lol When I go to Europe I want to ENJOY it. lol Maybe SOMEDAY I will get to go to an amaryllis show :-(

Larissa, I so understand you, I am in the same place, it would be wonderful to be able to enjoy a trip to Europe, but NO KIDS involved, specially not mine, he is everywhere touching everything (24 months old). The only time I really enjoy during the day is the two to three hour nap he takes, everyday at 3pm. However, SOMEDAY... mmmmm.... SOMEDAY...

Larissa, doesn't your mom owe you big time for killing your bulbs!?! hehehehe....Maria, do you have a sister, mom, MIL, aunt...someone who would just love to watch your little guy during the day?!? Just think how much your husbands will appreciate how HARD YOU WORK RAISING CHILDREN after a few days! This trip could be worth oh so much more than the $$$...!!! Hey, seriously, I understand, but thought it would be so much fun if people were interested.

I am interested, but my sister, mom, mom in law are in Argentina, my husband work here so, there is no way, BUT I just keep my faith that someday. My husband certainly needs to appreciate my work as he thinks it is "so easy" being a stay at home mom. Nevertheless, I cannot complain, but I really need my mom!!! Sniff!!!
But there is a lot of people in the forum (even in Europe), so come on people!!! It is a great idea, probably the problem is that if you start saving for the trip, CHAD can strike big time...

Kristi, I am interested in this idea! If my DH is still traveling for business then, then he makes extra and I might be able to get air miles from him too if he books it for me :-). Oh my gosh, would that not be wonderful! Hmmm, think we could visit some Gordon Setters too? Now that would be a dream trip! I loved the time I spent in Holland last year! IT was just a little town but I still loved it. And no kids to mind other then the fur kids!

Air miles....that's an option I hadn't even thought of. WHO HOOOO. Now others might not be interested in Gordons, but we could take a day trip and go see some. Honestly...with a couple of girls/guys per room, it would be very reasonable.

I have been dreaming about going to keukenhof since last year after Paul (RC) shared all those wonerful amaryllises on display. Paul has promised to bring us around including the hippie nurseries if ever we get to go there. I think I will have no problems about living the kids with hubby and their older sisters. It's the timing. By March, most of the hippies in the collection would be waking up from their sleep inside the garage. My family WILL NOT touch the hippies at that stage. If it was mid-spring early summer and they are all outside already, it would be easier to convince them to at least water them.

Ahhhhhhh...I would love to go to Keukenhof. But I need a greenhouse first. :-) Maybe in 2011? Maybe...

OK, now Chase is really worried. I brought the idea up to him last night. I didn't get a "no", I actually got a "we'll talk about it more" I may even be able to convince him to come along if y'all don't mind!
I've been to Amsterdamn as a flight attendant and brought back many bulbs form the flower markets, hardy cyclamen as large as dessert plates! Oh would I love to get there again. Maybe long term planning could work, Or I could hit the lotto!!!!!!

I'd HAVE to hit the lotto... I'm so broke I can't afford to pay attention! There's no way I can afford to save anywhere NEAR a hundred dollars a month! And to be quite honest, I'd rather eat glass, too, than leave Larry in charge of the poor furry kids! It's not that he couldn't, or wouldn't, handle their care... he's the best. It's that I'd never hear the end of it!

Some of you may remember... last summer we were supposed to go to a wedding in The Netherlands... we couldn't go because flights were way over our budget! Plus, we have the dogs to worry about. I can't trust just anyone to care for these guys... bulldogs can cause a lot of damage in the wrong hands, and I don't mean to furniture!

It's a lovely thought, Kristi... but one I'll have to put in my book of dreams. Unless something drastically changes, I'll probably never get the opportunity to do much traveling.
