I have given mine away and noone has complained - yet! I use leather thong (thicker than a shoelace), thick hemp and copper wire. I use a good long length of copper wire and wrap it around a pencil to coil the ends so that it looks like vining on a morning glory ... 'tis cute and gives a great look. I also use thick silver-looking wire and do the same thing - usually one of the wire colors matches what I have done.

Hi again! My island is 51" wide and 62" deep - the granite was actually just installed last night so now you can really see the lighting scenario! I think it would support only ONE of the basket weave pendants posted b/c that is 23" in diameter so I'd hang it really in the center. I think it could support two pendants of a traditional kind if they were between 10 and 20" in diameter, you know? I feel like I'm fighting the industrial pendant trend - and it's not because I don't like how it looks! It's just that everyone puts them in and they all look the same and in three years, something else will be the "everyone" option, you know? Can't decide now if the basketweave up there will bring in the pretty coloring and balance the granite, adding interest up in the air, OR detract. What do you think?

My collection of pots isn't big, but it changes from time to time. Also, I have reorganization fits and change the way they are arranged. I admire people who can get fine organization right the first time, but it takes me a while of trying it out. So, maybe think about that before choosing a final system. If you're not into peg board, there are grid systems (I linked to metro below) - a metal grid that attaches to the wall through small stand offs. Pots are hooked to the grid, the grid and stand offs keep anything from touching the wall. In the system below, you can get narrow shelves and other stuff that can hook in. Also Ikea sell some inexpensive rails that you can use to hang pots. It will hold most of the pot off the wall and also prevent hands from touching the wall. Sleeve length and TYPE. My closet is a sea of black. Cashmere is folded, and the few colors, easy to see. All silk shirts together......easy to see as well. Winter gets cleaned ans stored free ( paid up front ) at the dry cleaners, summer goes to crates in the late fall, and remains until spring. Easy peasy. If I'm not wearing it, I don't want it HANGING around, unless it is totally seasonless. Bottoms are easy, they're blinding white or they are black, Yeah............you guessed it. One is in, the other is OUT. Variety is nice, but most have far too much of it. Much like design.......it doesn't take that much variety to look good all the time. Nobody remembers what you had on, two weeks ago. Not even you. A friend and I had a joking laugh about Manhattan.... the streets a literal sea of black. " Ever wonder who wears all the colors in the STORES?? ................tourists?!" Alas......... this climate goes winter summer, summer winter in a blink. So its darn easy to switch.
