Bamboo are infrequently grown from seeds since they hardly ever flower. That's why you're not finding packets of them next to the carrot seeds at your local nursery. You're limited to getting seeds of the couple of bamboo that are flowering now. There are some F. nitida seeds around, some Ph. heteroclada, and some moso. There are also a couple more varieties I've seen available on eBay, but mostly they're from outside the U.S., and are technically illegal to import. If you find seeds, there's always the question about how fresh they are, as they lose viability quickly. There are a number of threads in this forum on growing from seeds that will give you an idea about how easy/hard it is to grow from seed. I've done it for the fun of it, but it's a slow way to get plants of any size. If you're able to grow them this way, they might reach 3-4' in a couple of years. That's why most of us buy our plants as divisions.

I bought some Moso and Giganteus seeds on ebay and none of them germinated.

I'm trying to germinate 200 moso seeds right now. 2 weeks into it so still have a few weeks to go.
