Mexican hat

I can't believe my Mexican hat this year. It's over 3 feet tall and blooming behind the Gaillardia Indian blanket. Last year it was about a foot tall, and being unfamiliar with the plant, I thought that was its size and was satisfied. The anise hyssop has tripled in size, too. I'm seeing with my own eyes that "The first year they sleep. The second year they creep, and the third year they leap." If this is the creeping phase, they ought to be something next year!
