Raised beds...

I am going to be planting some black bamboo soon. I was going to frame out a bed with 2x6's maybe 12" high and and dig a foot below. giving me a total of 3ft but 2ft visably.... I was wodering if thi sbed would be high enough to stop rhizomes from spreading to far....I thought I may dig a deeper section, maybe 2' below ground and line the whole thing with a pond liner, poking some holes in the deeper part for drainage...that would give me 4 ft. deep. The less digging the better. The basic question is do you think the liner is necessary, or is the height above ground enough?. Plus this will probably be a 8' x 3' bed.

Thanks for your time folks.
