I am definately growing snap dragons next year. Don't know
that much about them, except they are an early bloomer &
that will be nice. I also have never tried Stock either , nor
Statice! lol

Vera, I'm still waiting on my first set of true leaves on my snapdragon 'Black Prince' sprouts. I sowed them pretty late though. I also sowed 'Rembrandt' that I bought from Valueseeds, and they have been in the ground for over a month, and are about as big as your third year snaps.

I'll have to make a note about the 'Green Goliath' broccoli. Last year, I ripped out my broccoli in mid-July when it still hadn't even started to form a head. This year, I'm trying two kinds, Di Ciccio and Calabrese. They're still pretty small, so not sure if I'll get any this year either.

This is the coolest, wettest June we've had since I moved here, which my lettuce is loving! They're the size of small shrubs, LOL.

I can't believe your Giant Imperial Stock aren't doing well. Our growing conditions are similar, I am guessing, and mine have been blooming for over a week, both in pots and in the ground. I planted them Feb. 3rd, germination happened on the 24th of February.

The only drawback, I haven't got any doubles this year.

Mine didn't germinate until March 3rd and I didn't plant out until May 10th. Maybe they sat in the wintersow container too long? The ground was just too wet to work it early this year. We had again record amounts of snow!
We had 3 days running at 90+F here the week before last...then cooled down last week and starting to warm again. How about you?

Everything's looking good, Vera. I tried stocks several years ago and what a bust. Barely bloomed, and not until very late, like September. I never tried them again.

Are the stocks the ones in the front? I have never grown them before. That might be what my mystery plants are. I think they are too tall and the leaves are too big to be alyssum. I can see some tiny buds on them now.

We've pretty much had the same kind of weather, though you got more snow there. It was a very wet spring and cold to boot, and it warmed up all of a sudden. We've been dry and in the 80's for a couple weeks now.
The seed was from the 30 cent rack too, nothing special.
