Swiss cheese (Baby Swiss) has the best R-value according to the Head Cheese of the Wisconsin Federation of Cheeseheads.

I have a Texas-shaped patio block in my backyard, purchased this summer in Dallas. The guy at the garden center told me it would increase my zone rating from 4b to 8b. Shoot, that deal was too sweet to pass up.

And Wisconsin beer on the BBQ ribs, that helps too. Eat a few of those and you find yourself not worrying so much about low temperatures anymore.

I didn't know that those Texas-shaped patio blocks were still being sold. It has to be made from the very rare Brazos River Red Sandstone, or it won't increase zone rating. There have been cases of stones sold as such, but which only turned out to be fakes.

I recently contacted the WFC, and one of the cheese heads there told me, as you said, Baby Swiss is the way to go.

Yes, Old Milwaukee has been a longtime favorite for BBQs, but margarita's have a better human insulation rating, per ounce.

OK, I covered my Rubro with Baby Swiss but the cheese keeps disappearing. Now it's raining outside and kangaroos are jumping all around. Man, I shouldn't have messed with Mother Nature.

I never heard of kangaroos living farther north than Dallas.

The cheese wouldn't last very long here either, between the thylacines and armadillos, it would either get eaten, or spread all over the place. Hogs would eat the koalas.

lkz5ia, how about an exchange of some Texas soil for some cheese and bottled 12 oz longneck Old Mil, since you can no longer buy any here, except in quarts. Once Texas soil...always Texas soil.

The kangaroo that I had hopping around in my back pasture a few months back, turned out to be an escapee from a traveling petting zoo. At first, no one believed me when I told them about it, they just said that I was joking. Where would they get a crazy idea like that?? I'm always serious.

lkz5ia, I think some of those sightings are actually of the Chupacabra, which is quite common down here.

There was a kangaroo caught here last fall. The police had a heck of a time catching it and there were sightings all over the county before it was caught. No one knew where it came from but thought it must have been someone's pet. The kangaroo was not expected to survive the cold winter had it not been caught.

Will kangaroos eat bamboo? I imagine they could be quite a pest.

They eat grass and leaves and certain roots, also sometimes that eat fruit and berries, but this is rare, and more common in the wallaby family. They don't digest dry grass or hay very well but they do like tender new growth(like new bamboo shoots).

Maybe this is why the kangaroo here was hanging around my house, since the creek here is full of bamboo...and so is my yard.
