Dying Palo Verdes

farmerjohn7

I planted 12 Palo Verde volunteers along a 300 foot stretch of my property last year. They are on drip irrigation. The trees are 1 year old and large, 8' high and 12' spread. One tree in the center died and snapped off a few months ago, and now they are progressively dying from the dead tree out both ways. The tree is dying from the top down, and at each major branch junction to the trunk, the bark is chipping off in patches. The top branches are losing their chorophyl and turning yellow, and the bark is wrinkling. But the bark is still hard. I see no insects. Other species of trees in the line are doing fine. Any answers?
