Hope I am doing this right

Just building the garden now and hope I am doing things right. They may seem extreme but I have no other ideas.

I constructed a 12x15 "tomato" house that I will have screened off to provide adequate shade for the plants.

I also have 4 rows on each side of the tomato house.

each row is 18" wide by 18"deep and 11 feet long.

The rows run N and S at angles with the tomato cage.

The garden area gets full direct sunlight all day.

my questions are: what is the best way to amend my soil for the outdoor rows.

Should I use buckets for the tomato plants in the tomato house? I am also thinking of growing the plants upside down in buckets. Has anybody tried this?

once the garden is established I am going to plant a variety of vegetables and peppers.

any advice would be great thanks in advance.

oh. my soil is the high clay/powdery stuff. that is typical here in Maricopa city.
