Are these jacaranda seeds ?

My neighborn has a pretty jacaranda tree, at least 40 yerars old, with beautiful purple flowers.

I know the jacaranda has a green seed pod that turns brown and hard. When that brown hard seed pod opens, I get these (see photo) all over my yard.

Are these "winged things" the seeds themselves, or are there tiny little seeds attached to the "spine" of the "winged things" in the photo, meaning that the seeds have already scattered far and wide? If so, you can see the little indentations where the seeds were (but no tiny seeds!).

BTW, I don't have, nor have I seen, tiny little seeds attached to the "spine" of these "winged things."

I'd like to plant a few of these "winged things" and get a jacaranda tree, but am not sure if I'll be planting *nothing* or maybe *something*--I have looked high and low on the net and have not been able to find the answer, so any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for any help!

Smiles,

Sooz
