Sour Oranges as a hedge?

Our back wall faces a freeway and an open desert which is a security issue.

We would want something to grow high and thick to block out the freeway noise, and provide security, evergreen. We looked at oleanders, japanese privets, ficus columns, hopseed, bottlebrush bush and they all have up and downs. oleanders, for evasive and poisonous, ficus cold damage issues, and the rest are shorter then we would like. However someone recommended to us Sour Oranges which can grow to 20-30feet. What are the pros and cons of these as a hedge? what is the growth rate, and is this the best choice for what we are looking for?

Thanks ahead for looking!
