unlike the thread above I am in UK and surprisingly the plant which is now 2ft has survived my not so green hands. Sunlight here is a rarity hence its all the more of a challenge for the plant to survive this long in inexperienced hands. It is kept in the kitchen where it is generally warm but cant substitute the sunlight, wish I could. More recently it is getting black towards the growing tips. Fresh shoots develop but they soon turn black and drop off. They are watered sparingly (weekly) and get Babybio as the feed(2-3 drops while watering). should I be doing anything or should nature take its course. any advise is helpful but bear in mind you are dealing with a not-so-green-hands. aj

Hi , My curryleaf plant has a similar problem.... My curryleaf plant got soft scale insects, so I treated it with a solution of detergent, as directed, and removed scales by hand. I also sprayed it with a solution of rubbing alcohol as directed. 2 days after the diluted alcohol spray, it developed black / dark brown spots underneath its leaves, and this has spread to almost the whole plant in few days. I'm not sure if it is connected to the alcohol spray, or its some kind of fungus...very concerned. Please advice, anyone!

Hi, Recently bought a curry leaf plant. potted up to 4 inch bigger pot. its been 3 weeks since i potted up and i kept it outdoors in the sunny deck. now the leaves tips are turning black and few leaves are dropping. what am i doing wrong? i haven't fertilized it yet. last few days there was more rain. please help.

Do you really want detergent or just a mild natural soap like Ivory liquid washing soap. I thought detergent was not good for plants and it was better to use a pure soap. I have this problem and I mix up a 5 gallon bucket of neem oil and dip the plant upside down in the liquid to make sure I get every bit of surface but the mites come right back. hahaha. I have to try it your way. I have been doing it in the house and I think I have already infected the house with the mites. I like your idea of doing it outdoors BEFORE bring the plants indoors. and getting rid of the surface soil because I suspect that the surface is infected with mites and aphids. I have not had as much problems with aphids over winter. I have it more in the summer. anyway I like your ideas very much. I have to try it out. I was not sure of where to pick up neem oil so I ordered it off EBay. Home Depot sold it to me on Ebay. that was this month. it just arrived a couple of days ago. and the shipping said it was sold from home depot. hahaha.
