I cannot find these 2 roses anywhere online??

I have searched all over the Internet and at the rose vendors we have discussed here, I also went to Helpmefind/roses to look up vendors who sell Johann Strauss and Royal Highness. I cannot find these 2 rose's anywhere. Does anyone here know where I can find these 2 roses to buy online. I prefer them to come from the same vendor but I want them so bad I don't mind if they are at 2 separate vendors. I find it strange that these 2 roses are so hard to find since they are 2 basic everyday roses that have been around for sometime now.

Did you check the BUY FROM tab on the rose page on HMF ? Garden Valley Ranch is listed as a vendor and I checked their site and they still list both roses.

Regan Nursery carries Johann Strauss. They don't list the other variety.

That is a picture of Clarkia elegans. It is also known as C unguiculata. Do some more Googling - it has been developed by seed merchants into many colours both double and single. Yours is nearer the wild species in appearance.

Thanks, but Forest Farm is dead to me. They've sent me too many mislabeled species roses. I have a new objective for species roses: they should be true to type and, ideally, seed grown so that if we buy two plants, they won't be clones. I'm sick of species selections grown as clones. With unrelated seedlings, if we carefully hybridize the two plants, we can actually produce seedlings showing a bit of the diversity of the species. I've love to have a garden full of species that aren't clones. OP species seedlings are always a crapshoot, and OP seedlings of a solitary diploid species rose are virtually assured to be hybrids because so many diploid are self-incompatible.

Being a computer cretin, I couldn't see your images. However, if the ID of Maranta is correct - the plant possibly folds its leaves up at night (a prayer plant). They need even moisture and good light: a west window could be ideal. According to one source, you can keep them in pure sphagnum moss. They prefer a lean diet and don't feed it in winter. Each month liquid feed with a 20-20-20 brew. (20 parts each of Nitrogen, Potassium, and Phosphorus). Follow the instruction strictly because too much could either burn your plant or kill it. Cram it into the smallest pot you can and spritz it early in the day. When you have taken it from the florist's container and repotted it, then get a waterproof plastic dish, put some pebbles in the bottom, and put in about half an inch of water. Rest the pot on the pebbles. As the water evaporates it will provide the humidity the plant needs. If you have central heating in your house it will do the same for you and your wooden furniture... Your sinuses could thank you. If it gets too dry, you could find red spider mites are a problem. Put the potted plant in the sink and gently run cold water over it then leave it to drain before returning it to its tray. If the other one is a Cyperus - it may be happy growing in a vase with water in it and a pinch of horticultural charcoal to keep the water sweet. No soil. If repotting sounds scary, check with your local garden centre. Some of them will do the job for you and you can watch/learn for the next time.

Scarlett, I love mine, beginning its third season. I got mine from Jackson and Perkins, I don't think they're sold out yet. Mine didn't do much in 2014, but took off last year and is looking good. I just received a J&P catalog that shows it available bare root or 2 quart. I believe I got mine 2 quart. I'm not currently a huge fan of Jackson & Perkins, but I don't know if there's another source for this one and it is a lovely rose.

Roses Unlimited in Laurens, SC lists Royal Highness on their list. I bought mine as a body bag rose from Home Depot. I have had reasonably good luck with their plants as opposed to some others. With the body bag ones, you have to get them when they are fresh and haven't been sitting around for a while.

Boy howdy does 'Royal Highness' lack vigor. I tried for years, finally gave up.

'Brides Dream' its offspring is so much better.

When I grew 'Royal Highness,' I knew about its rather sparse, tall habit, so I put two body-bag plants in the same hole. It made a nice bush. I wouldn't say it was strikingly low in vigor. I discarded it because the beautiful flowers too often had brown spots from botrytis in wet weather.

Perhaps "vigor" is the wrong word...just never got much out of any of the plants I tried. tall and sparse, yes. Beautiful flowers, but not very many of them--the spring flush would be 4 or 5 flowers, and production after that was all down hill.

I have found and ordered Johann Strauss at Regens, still looking for Royal Higness. I have both of these roses at our family vacation home in Rancho Mirage and Royal Higness does very well there so does Johann Strauss, I have posted a pic of the RH. I purchased these 2 at a local nursery in Palm Desert about 7 years ago. They do so well there that I want these 2 here at my permanent home. Below is a pic of my Royal Highness and it does not lack vigor it is a bloom machine for me, I just love the long thornless stems, to the left of RH is the Johann Strauss. My roses do so well there, very healthy, when it is not 118F.

The tallest rose right in the middle of the pic with the light pink blooms on it is the Royal Higness look how tall it is, it does not lack vigor at all. This rose does very well for me. The climate here at my permanent home is pretty much the same as in Palm Desert, so it will do well here too. I will look at the nurseries that were mentioned above.
