This hippeastrum hybrid is called Tosca and has never been reveiled on the market, if you have an ebay account and you live in the u.s. i suggest you bid on the bulb of tosca since this bulb may only be sold for cut flower sales, quick 5 hours left for bidding.

TOSCA just recently arrived and have never been released before. This is actually the ONLY release of this beautiful Dutch hybrid that I know of here in USA. With the help of a very good friend in Holland who runs a company that sells good quality Hippeastrum bulbs, I was blessed to acquire a few of these Tosca bulbs. These Tosca bulbs came direct from the grower/owner, inspected by the USDA/APHIS in Netherlands before they were shipped here to US. Every single bulb is inspected and sealed in it's own bag as you can see in the attached pic. I had to open/cut the seal to inspect the bulbs upon arrival to make sure that they were not damaged in transit.

TOSCA has been exhibited in the Keukenhof Flower Festival and has received outstanding reviews. It is not sure if bulbs of Tosca will be released in the future as they will be used for cut flower production in Holland. Provided pictures of Tosca are take in the very nursery they are grown and the other one is the Tosca display in Keukenhof.

For me, the global friendship that resulted from these ebay transactions is PRICELESS compared to the $$$ amount of the item at the end of the auction. Without your trust, I would not be here...

In this listing, I will not be offering you seeds of my seed crosses. It will be a bulb of a new and beautiful variety that just recently joined the hippeastrum collection...

H. TOSCA

TOSCA just recently arrived and have never been released before. This is actually the ONLY release of this beautiful Dutch hybrid that I know of here in USA. You will be bidding on the pictured Tosca bulb. It's bulb circumference is 30 cm and weighs almost 1 lb, evidence of bulbs not having been subjected to too long storage. As you can see in the picture, it is very fresh with a lot of live roots. The bulbs are healthy and firm with no scape tips coming out and have not gone through "machine washing". It also has a tiny bulblet (baby) already. This bulb will be shipped priority mail ONLY, after payment is received. I will ship bulbs Monday to Wednesday, weather permitting, to avoid shipment sitting in the post office during the weekend. Please be aware of temperatures in your area for the week after the listing ends. The bulbs will be alright up to 40F temperature. Anything below that might harm them and I will not be responsible for frozen or damaged bulbs. These bulbs will be good quality bulbs when they leave my hands and will be carefully packed to keep them as warm as possible for their shipment. If the temperature in your area during the shipping dates are unfavorable, I can hold this bulb for you until you instruct me to ship them as long as it is paid after the auction. Hippeastrum bulbs perform their best when they are planted as soon as possible. Long storage WILL dry them up and can possibly affect their performance. I will ship internationally but will not be responsible for damaged, delayed, lost or confiscated shipment. Contact me for shipping cost and details. With the shipping box and packing materials, this Tosca bulb will weigh more than 1 lb, thus the 2 lb shipping rate. To help out with your shipping cost, I can include seeds of my seed crosses and/or bulblets from the hippeastrum collection with your Tosca bulb if you wish as long as the total weight of the shipment would stay below 2 lbs. I will combine shipping costs if you win any of my other listings.

I am a hippeastrum collector/homegrower/hybridizer and not a bulb company. I do not sell bulbs in big quantities. This listing is my way of sharing this beautiful new variety to you. Although I do recommend Knockouts to friends - you know the kind, they put a rose in the ground and expect it to like petunias or something! They don't really want to spend time to appreciate the rose as such - just needed something for color. I admit the KOs do look really pretty in mass plantings, sigh. BUT that said I don't have any in my yard! I just have a conglomeration of various roses, but wanted to jump in to comment on Wayside. Last year I ordered five roses. Only one was what I would call in acceptable condition. All were very small and one (Just Joey) had three tiny canes about 3 inches long and smaller than a pencil. One cane was dead and when I complained, I was told that you can't tell if a cane is dead just because it is black. Well, I let them know that I had been growing roses for over 30 years and if I said it was dead, then it is dead. THEY said just give them time and they would take off. JJ bloomed once - small white bloom so was not Just Joey anyway! Out of the five, one made it till this spring. It is still only about 6 inches tall and is blooming - Livin' Easy in case you are curious. I got a credit for the other four, but wanted a refund because this is the second time Wayside has burned me badly. Of course there isn't anything on their website that I want....and don't want to buy anything more from them anyway. I guess I'll keep watching, who knows, they may tempt me with something again.

Jungle, That should work..just keep one thing in mind that when a bulb has no roots as in a new bulb it is more difficult for the seed pods to grow to completion..harder on the bulb. It can be done and quite often there is no trouble but, just be aware that polleating on a bulb that has already rooted is always more successful..just a though... Last year I bought a new Evergreen (cybister type) and there were probably 7 flowers on the first stalk which I tried pollenating and all failed. A few weeks later another stalk appeared and there were fewer flowers and I tried again and this time I did end up with one pod that produced a few seeds and so I have just "3" seedlings of Evergreen x Exotic Star that are doing splendidly. I am excited and am already envisioning what the flower might look like.... Fortunately for me my first papilio that came from Ebay was already rooted and it already had a bud!! How lucky was that!! Looks-wise, of the two under consideration, I'm thinking the AGA. I know the O and M is later, but I think it's better to go later than earlier, if right on the date doesn't work. Houses do evolve. I never calibrated or worried about BTUs when I had the O and Ms. The people who refurbished them had them set up with 3/4" gas lines and they had POWER. None of this was my doing. Coincidentally, I believe all three were the same model and had the grill-a-vator (sp?) broiler. I've not felt anything as solid, except for a real La Cornue. However, I do understand your thinking about this. I have one question: How often do you think you would use a rotisserie? I regret not having thought of this in my own kitchen. FYI...our KD told us that no sink that you want to actually use as something other than a hand washing sink should be any less than 12" in each direction...and more is better. Our prep sink is 15-3/4" square (interior) and I would not want anything any smaller in either direction. That said, what about the: Ticor S815: Interior Dimensions: 15" x 14" x 8" or Ticor S3630: Interior Dimensions: 14" x 15-1/2" x 8" Both look like they would fit in an 18" deep cabinet as long as you oriented them appropriately in the cabinet.
