Hackberry Weeds

I can't seem to find much online regarding hackberry weeds. These are the worst most invasive trees. They grow right up next to the trunk of every single tree I've ever planted. I read they form new trees from their roots, (up to 40 feet away) which make them much worse than ligustrum and loquats. (I can pull Japanese Ligustrum and Loquat - Cottonwood too) Hackberries are extremely deep rooted and can't be pulled by their roots. Round Up hasn't worked with them, they bounce right back. Cutting them back just invigorates them. I've tried cutting them to the ground and covering their stumps with duct tape, they just keep sucker even more.

Grhh...

Other than Agent Orange or some other horrific chemical that destroys everything has anyone have any luck getting rid of those awful weeds?

I tried Weed B Gon a few years ago and it caused flashback (translocation) killing desirable shrubs.
