Advice for tree selection/planting

We own property on a lake in Northern Minnesota (zone 3a), and on part of the property, it is quite low, and even on a dry year, the soil is moist at the surface.

I'd like to plant trees here to help suck up some of the excess water. The trees would have to be flood tolerant, like wet soil with an acid PH (~6.0), and tolerate partial shade.

Species already growing in the area include Pussy Willow and other willows, Speckled Alder and Red Osier Dogwood in the lowest areas. In addition, Red Maple, Paper Birch, Quaking Aspen, Green Ash, White Spruce, and Balsam Fir are growing in the slightly higher areas.

I'd prefer conifers/evergreens. Currently, Quaking Aspen has been quite vigorous with lots of young trees sprouting up throughout the spot, but I think this is because we've had several dry years in a row. The next wet year we have will kill these trees... so I want to get a good water loving tree in there.

Any suggestions or experiences with something similar?
