Hello! First of all, thanks trudi d for pointing me to your forum. I'm very intrigued by winter sowing now! I'm not sure how applicable it is to me in Southern California, but I wanted to start my seeds outdoors.

I want to plant tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, winter squash, string beans, passiflora edulis and daikon. I'm looking for advice on how to start them, and if I can use the winter sowing method, as I don't have any sunny window areas for starting seeds. I do have a small place outside that I can put a few flats, though.

I will eventually put most of the seedlings in a raised bed that I have yet to construct. The passionfruit and tomato plants I am planning to put in containers. I also ordered some cape gooseberry seeds that I might put in a container as well.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give me!
