tndandelion,I hope your sprouts make it.Maybe you should hold off planting the trouble bed until after the spring rains.I had an area like that when I first moved into my house.I built it up with lots of rock and soil,so now it has become a nice flower bed.The water flows down the drive way now.It has been raining here for 2 days and has turned quite chilly.I hope this will be our last cold spell-but I won't hold my breath,lol.You will have to post some pictures of your new babies.I refuse to even uncap mine for a few more weeks.Yep,wsing does work.This is my 3rd year and I am getting close to 500 containers now.

That's definitely a plan! The Mississippi river is really high as well as all the local rivers and creeks. We've not seen water like this in a few years. It's not unusual for us, but we've been kinda lucky the last several seasons.

All of my other beds are fine but there's just something about this one. I'll have to work on it. ;)

I'm glad your babies are doing well! You've planted yours out, and I'm barely seeing sprouts, but I guess that's ok. (I'm trying not to be jealous!).

I hope that wet flower bed will be ok, Moonphase's suggestion of building it up seems good--unless maybe it would divert water to a worse location.

I don't have suggestions for your babies, but I do have one for the low area. Consider a Rain Garden. They are environmentally friendly planting areas designed to use flood and roof waters. Native plants used to flood drought cycles are used in low places or in low areas created to contain roof runoff.

I have not created my rain garden yet, but it sounds like a great plan for the areas of my yard that flood in the spring.

Stage rat is right about checking where the water will go if you fill the area. A house I drive past filled a HUGE flooded depression in their front yard this fall. This winter, it looked like a skating rink across their yard and right into the doorwall of their neighbor's basement. Ouch!
