I can't seem to pass a seed rack now without seeing if there's one more flower for my meadow, vegetable for the raised bed garden, or herb.

I have a huge pile of seeds to get into containers--fast germinating types and annuals for May. Haven't got a single sprout yet from my first 30 plantings, but I will start watering more regularly tomorrow. I was keepng them about the the dry side because we were having roller coaster temperatures for all of February.

I've always been a seed-a-holic and a hopeless garden romantic, and now I'm so much worse!

By the way, Carol Hosta, if you are reading this, I just got my new issue of Bliss Victoria, and the garden in there is so gorgeous! Thank you so much for telling me about that magazine being back in print.

Next week we order gravel and mulch!

Yep me too! Terrible isn't it?...NOT!...I am very happy with my adiction and will proudly admit it!
I have too many seeds, and I bought 3 packs a couple weeks ago! HD had their seed rack out and I had to buy some Harlequin Columbine,Watermelon Heaven Poppies,and Watercolor Memories phlox,I didnt have those yet!(*halo appears above my head*) I am just glad we seed addicts have a place to go,imagine a world without GW! All alone with our addictions,sowing seeds at night in front of the TV alone,no on there to say,"trade with me...sow some seeds...sow them inside...sow them outside..need seeds?";)

Watercolor Memories phlox!? That sounds gorgeous! Lemme see...how soon can I get to HD....

Just wait til you have sprouts - you'll probably do what I did and run right out and buy more seeds!

Welcome to the club. My seeds are organized by category in ziplock bags that then are lined up in a Sterilite plastic tote with a locking lid. Years ago, I stored them in one of those plastic boxes meant to hold a pair of shoes. Then, I kept buying more and needed two of those little plastic boxes meant to store shoes, and then eventually I needed three..... I realized I was developing a little seed problem. So, I did the only logical thing. I went out and bought a big plastic storage box and returned the little shoe boxes to serving as shoe storage. The end result? Now I have a big seed problem. Ain't life grand?

Hi costaricafinca, I get 10 different hummers, some in the winter, some in the summer. Right now is the high point of migration. I fill the feeders twice a day even though most hummers prefer my red garden. The little village of Portal where I live has hosted 5 more that I still have not seen in my own yard. 10 step program for fabric-holics - does it exist?

Now why would anyone want a ten step program for fabriholics? I ask you, WHY? If nothing else we are keeping the economy from falling! It's like our Mom's and Grandmom's collection of buttons. It's just something we do. Like breathing. The day I stop buying farbic will be the day I die. Years ago my hubby bought me four heavy duty metal shelving units which we placed two deep and set side by side. Then we bought 16 large clean plastic containers that set two on a shelf and pull out like drawers (with lids) for viewing. Yes, I said viewing. Like any collection, fabric begs to be looked at. At least that's what I think I hear calling to me from the basement. As time went by I had them all over flowing with fabric and had to purchase four more large ones to set on top of the four on the top shelf. Later it was twelve shorter ones, but with the same footprint, to slip in on top of the twelve on the lower shelves. If I could find at least two more of shelves this exact size I'd buy them. But for now the over flow is in two armoires and an old wood cabinet. These, in the old wood cabinet, are fabrics that I'm currenting using. Yes, shock of all shocks I'm actually sewing. I've made close to twenty five pillow slips. Otherwise known as pillow cases to the masses. For some reason my family called the ones my Grammy made for us pillow SLIPS, so that's what I call them. I'm in the process of making pillow covers for down pillows in our Gentlemen's Parlor. Well, when I'm not online writing about my fabric that is. Fabric isn't my only obsession. I have a number of them, but it is one of my two favorites. Guess you could call me a fabri-choco-holic. Now if I could just find fabric made from chocolate it could solve one problem.....STORAGE! 8D

Im still picking seed pods from things I KNOW I wont even grow. I got four seeds from a wisteria-like (but not) kind of plant yesterday. The pod was really kewl.....about 8 inches long..... izzat a good reason to pick them?

Does anybody collect them just to collect them?

Count me in as another seed addict. I finally came to the realization this weekend that I just need to keep a few seeds that I want to grow and then pass the otehrs on. I'm getting ready to do a posting on the seed exchange so I can't change my mind. I have lots of seeds that I'm not even wild about so why not pass that good fortune on to someone else.

I refuse to admit how much I have fed my seed addiction; let's just say that this year, I'm sowing a lot of 2002 seed and hoping for the best.

I've started on a 2nd shoe (boot) box of seeds. I have a third shoe box to put the seeds I've already planted for the season. I have seeds in the freezer too. The husband just shakes his head and says," Well, at least its a cheap hobby."

Today, I've got to stop at Lowes and pick up a hard hat for work. I know I'll be swinging by the gardening department.

Nope,no more buying for me until all of these are sown!...uh...hum...

I guess I shouldnt feel too bad,out of all the seeds I have those are the only ones I bought! So I did good,right?

Linda,they are really pretty,they are an annual.I love the colors,my seeds are Burpee,that way you know which rack to go to...lol...

I am so embarrased by my table full of seeds..I have been sharing and sharing and somehow the table is still full...*sigh*...I guess it could have to do with everyone bringing me home new seeds, and when we go by a store i need to make sure they dont have something i am missing..*blush* and I just did an order at TM seeds, since they HAD to send me a coupon, couldnt let it go to waste, could I...Oh boy do I have a seed addiction...

It is a sickness. I swear, if I go to a store, I search for seeds. If I do not find them, I breathe a sigh of relief. If I do find them, I feel like a werewolf when the full moon comes out at night. I mean, I feel so happy I found them and look for things I do not have yet.

Of course I do have a lot of enablers. Everyone I know gives me seed packets they get free here or there or collects them from plants they get from who knows where. So it's not my fault, someone has to plant them.

My DH even gives me bouquets of seed packets for valentines day...LOL

yes in the rr i said hi i'm medo and i'm a seed addict i have been since april of 07, i've even gotten my kids to be addicted. LOL now i just think about what i want to plant, i want to even make my own plant, that would be soooo cool!! i sometimes just dream about it, that sometimes is nightly!! LOL
i soooooo cannot wait till all the flowers come out so i can pick some seeds off of the ones i want later!! i know, its a bad thought, but i just hafta!!! :')) and that trading!!!! ohhhhhh my!! :')) don't get me started!! LOL

Wow, I asked for seeds for Valentines Day too, and I dearly love them.

I also got an azalea plant in shreaking magenta. Don't tell anyone, but that color of azalea puts my eyes out of alignment. Can't stand that color in my yard. Shreaking violet yes, but not magenta.

Can't get enough of seeds, though.

LOL as my brother say's :'>> yes we do angie, i have a bunch to send now, i'm planting a bunch tonight!! hubby went to dollar general and bought me 4 of those green houses and said plant to get rid of the seeds, cool huh!!! LOL :'>> do ya think he wants the livingroom back?? LOL and the diningroom back?? and part of the kitchen??? LOL ***big grin***
