That's pretty good for March 1 - and zone 5!

This year, I haven't been checking my containers every other minute, but I did take a look over the weekend, and saw some radicles emerging on my cauliflower.

So far, I've only sown 11 containers (not counting the 3 containers of brazilian fireworks and coleus sown inside), so I guess I better get cracking too!

Have these all sprouted for you already? Wow, I'm jealous. I've got one stinking lettuce sprout.

That's pretty good for z5, sure different from my z5, I don't even WANT to look yet. As to germination, I'm guesstimating, lucky if I remember to enter into my log after a long, tedious, weary, labor intensive day lol. Actually, 2 or 3 hours is my limit, then work on prepping and other things. And I actually stopped and stirred up some potato salad tonight, didn't want to do it but made myself lol.

If I just get 3 plants out of some, I'll consider that success.

Nuttin' yet! Last year it wasn't until Mar 24th before I got anything.

I no longer worry if I will have success or not because wintersowing has never let me down. Sure, there will be some jugs that don't germinate, but I know that there will be lots that do. As it is right now, There are probably 200+ babies growing out there and I am not even 1/3 done sowing. This year I am most excited for my annuals which I haven't even started yet. I am also excited because I have never been to the point of actually ripping out perennials. I am going to have to this year to make room for a few new ones and I am actually looking forward to that.

Does anyone feel like starting all over? I went out and cleaned up the front bed and want to plant all new things in there. It's pretty roomy for here.

gavdenluv, you still have a lot of work ahead of you. I was thinking I'll use the dozen pepsi bottles I prepped, maybe a few more cups for some annuals, another jug or two as I empty them, and call it a season. I think a lot of the annuals can be planted hos.

I do have a lot left to do. I am saving my pepsi bottles for some annuals that I don't have a lot of seeds for. The rest of them I use milk jugs. I pulled out my March bag of seeds which I will probably start on today.

From what you have written in various posts, I think it safe for you to start annuals. I'm waiting until the last week of this month. April can be dicey here.

There are some that I will go ahead and start, but others like zinnias and dahlias that will have to wait quite a bit longer.

Felt good enough to check my jugs outside today and found that Jug #33 Bachelor Buttons Mix from dem_pa has 6 sprouts in it.

That means that 51% of my jugs have some germination in them!!!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to sow a couple more.
