advice about moving J. Cartier?

I planted a bareroot Jacques Cartier in April (can't remember who from now). It grew into an amazing 5' x 4' shrub this year, blooming constantly, not a touch of disease (odd in this humid area). I did not expect such growth the first year.

In fact, I'm worried it will be too big for the area next year, but don't know anything about cane die-back over the winter. I'm wondering if I can prune it to the ground late in the winter, for one; given its performance this year that seems to pose no problem. But will it get much larger, do any z5-ers know?

Another option would be to move it now to a spot where it will fit, but I'm sort of loathe to do that since I just planted it. I'd much rather leave it alone, but wish it hadn't been so exuberant. Advice, please!
