How about floribunda 'Princess of Wales'
Comments (4)If you're looking for a fragrant white floribunda, an obscure one you might consider is 'Nana Mouskouri'. For me it's been better than average in bloom production, and repeats fairly quickly. The flowers are pure white all summer, but as temps cool there sometimes is a touch of pale pink in the center. Because I spray regularly, I always hesitate to address disease issues (BS is the main disease problem where I garden). By fall, though, the real disease magnates reveal themselves despite my efforts. NM has been healthy for me -- not as constantly clean as 'Julia Child, for example, but better than average. I bought mine from RU in the spring of '06, so she's finishing her 3rd season in my garden. I got this rose for a purely nostalgic reason: I went thru a Nana Mouskouri phase in college. Still love her music. Here is a link that might be useful: NM @HMF...See MoreFragrant floribundas
Comments (28)I have had good luck with these smelly floribundas: Honey Perfume: one of my favorites, lots of blooms, smells great. Honey/gold/yellow Enchanted Evening: this is my first year and I am in love with this rose. Beautiful lavender, large blooms, and smells fabulous. Very clean, upright growth. I will order another one...a healthy, sweet scented, large bloomed lavender rose: winner!!! Flirtatious: I've had this one for 5 years and it's one of my all time favorites. ALWAYS blooming. Nice, sweet scent. Julia Child: a happy, well behaved, clean, rich yellow rose with a sweet scent. Moondance: This is a beautiful, sweetly scented white rose that I've been very happy with. I love the scent. Queen Elizabeth is ridiculously healthy and vigorous. Absolutely problem free, healthy, upright growth, always blooming. Sometimes it has a light, sweet scent....See Morewhite floribunda ID please!
Comments (4)Thanks for the suggestions! It doesn't seem like Iceberg to me, since (you can't tell from the photos) the petals are more substantial, the flowers a bit larger, the fragrance is different, and the leaves are dark and glossy compared to Iceberg's relatively yellowish dull leaves. Also the flowers have a flush of yellow toward the center, fading quickly, and I've never seen that in my Icebergs. The pictures do look a lot like Iceberg, though. The pictures and descriptions of First Class make that a strong contender in size, color and stamen color, although the photos on HMF don't show flowers that are quite as precise, or petals as ruffly. I'll have to see if there are any First Class in nurseries or the rose garden!...See MoreCan you help ID this white floribunda?
Comments (13)Darn again. I thought maybe the New Mexico sun just bleached out the yellow of White Licorice. BTW looked at the Margaret Merrill at the rose garden, and it didn't look anything like this one, but perhaps it could be a difference in culture/climate? Definitely not Iceberg. I have 8 of those, and the petals are smaller, rounder and not ruffled. They also don't have the yellow blush in the center, but are a more crisp white. Thanks for the thought though, and send me more ideas! Here's a pic of my Iceberg from a couple of days ago, just for comparison sake....See Morelindawisconsin
