I've had great luck with Fame. I've had it at 3 houses in California. All have done well. It's a bright pink. Each individual bloom isn't fabulous but it's always in bloom and covers the bush. Plus disease resistant.

I have a 2 yr old Miss All American Beauty. Gorgeous color and huge blooms. Doesn't bloom too often but very pretty when it does.

I have enjoyed Rina Hugo and many of the Buck roses in that color. Love Prairie Breeze, Country Squire, Earth Song......there are quite a few others. Chamblees has a good selection and got my Rina Hugo there also.

I have Electron and although it is absolutely beautiful it just doesn't bloom enough for me (yet). Below is a recent pic of my Electron. How about Crowd Pleaser or Brilliant Pink Iceberg - both have some cream color to them as well?

MIchelle - Your Electron is stunning! I had crowd pleaser but pulled it out because of the rust. That is exactly the color I am looking for though.

Fame is wonderful but I can't comment on rust. I don't get it here (Livermore). I have very, very hot, dry summers. I do get mildew in the spring and Fame has been completely clean, even when I had it in Oakland. I will say that in my high temps here it does bloom but blows quickly. In the spring and fall it holds the blooms a long time.

I wouldn't be without this rose.

Thanks Debbie. It is amazing what heat does. We had a hot, dry couple of weeks and all my disease disappeared. The roses have never looked better. Our public rose garden has Fame. I'll go take a look at it today, however, I am sure if it had any fungus the heat probably helped there too.

I just ordered two roses that I believe should be very disease resistant. Both are deep hot pink/cerise, and basically thornless. Thomas Affleck is zone 5, and Papa Hemeray zone 6. I've seen "Papa" in the Tulsa Rose Garden, and it was totally healthy, when most were in pitiful condition with lots of missing or blackspotted leaves. I was immediately drawn to it, and THRILLED when I discovered the lack of thorns. Knew right then it would soon be MINE!
"Thomas", from all I've read, is very hardy and very disease resistant, and being thornless cinched that one for me, as well. They are on a Spring order from Antique Rose Emporium. I just got 2 Reine des Violettes from them in great shape.

I really appreciate knowing about roses I have never heard of before. I'll do a little research. Hot pink seems to be the rose color I gravitate to over and over.

One that I did not see mentioned is Baronne Edmund de Rothschild. It is a hot pink HT with a silver reverse; it typically produces three blooms to a long strong stem- you could disbud but I never do. Very nice form and a striking plant that people are drawn to. I find it to be very hardy in my microclimate which is a little inland in San Diego. Reblooming is very good. It can be obtained from Armstrong Nurseries.

I have a very young All American Beauty and so far it has shown no disease. I live in coastal Ca. and get truckloads of mildew, so over the years have been trying lots of different roses, looking for the fragrant and disease resistant ones.
So far, this rose is looking good. It's own root and just came early this season, so still very small. The blossom is just beautiful though.

First Prize is fairly good, if not hot pink. Have always been curious about Star of the Nile from Heirloom. Don't know about disease resistance. Would love to have Grandmother's Hat!

I just came across my Rina Hugo that has been dug up and repotted for moving. Not a speck of disease on her- I was actually shocked as I had some issues growing her in California. I am so looking forward to the couple of blooms she is ready to show me.

Virginia - I have BERothschild. New to me this year. Jury is still out. It got rust, but so did every one of my roses.

Janet - Thank you for the info on AABeauty. I have it in a pot, waiting to see what it will be like. It gave me a beautiful fall flush. I need info on it because when I plant in the ground I plant in groups of five. I can't stand to plant five and then pull them out.

Peachie - Star of the NIle looks great on HMF. I want Grandmother's hat mostly because Jeri recommended it.

Trish - Rina Hugo is beautiful. I got a report that it was very prone to rust. Bummer.
