Just as a point of reference, last falls GTA west tailgater that wildflower, Rosiebee, myself, Signet and Stellagord launched occurred on September 5th. Last falls GTA central tailgater arranged by Muttsfan occurred on September 18th, and the GTA far east tailgater in Peterborough arranged by tdunford was on October 9th - so early or late - the plant swapping fun was happening. I have been splitting and potting perennials since early August for 3 charity garage sales - I think the earlier I pot things, the better they look when the charity sale/tailgate plant swap occurs. I've got two more charity garage sales to donate plants to, plus committed myself to the Markham swap as a definite must attend. Whether you choose earlier or later - just have a great time swapping - what fun we all had at last falls and this past spring gta swaps. I think picking the date is the hardest thing because you don't want to leave anyone behind who has plants to swap. Best wishes and wish I could come to the west swap but at this point it doesn't look too promising - but who knows, once you pick a date, it might just be too hard for me to resist.

For sinningia's, Dave's Violets. You can google this name to get his website. He is very well known for his sinningia's and my suggestion is to order early in the year as he runs out quickly. Great selection! Also Karutz Greenhouses carries a limited number sinningia's and other Gesneriads. The Violet Barn for episcias and other Gesneriads. Great selection! Can be ordered year round, though the best time in my opinion is early spring (before the shows start) and late summer. Will not ship episcias after mid-Sept. due to sensitivity to cold. They are located in upper NY state. Another good source Lyndon Lyon's also in upstate NY. All can be googled for website addresses. Dave

Hello Everyone... Hello Andrea.... Dont worry about your cutting ..it will be alright... Let it dry out in the sunshine...giving it alittle extra water..wont do any damage to it..only if you keep doing it before it drys out...no worries.. As far as the mushrooms...it natural...again no worries...just means that your soil conditions are really good right now!!! I would carefully pull them out and toss! What type of pot did you put it in? Make sure it gets all of the heat it can...they love it especially this time of the year...once my temps get into the 100's i have to protect the containers...but now they really enjoy all they can get.. Dont worry...you new Hawaiian baby will be fine... Once Again welcome... Take care everyone.. Captjack1...Congratulations on the blooms last year...hopefully they will continue to push new inflos for you this year...the season is still early..so you may still see some...dont forget to fertilize and you will see flowers again hopefully!!! Remember eaery tree has its own personality..sometimes they take years to bloom... SOmetimes cuttings will already have a n inflo started..this has occured already before the cut...so sometimes they do push while rooting...we here on the forum watch to make sure the energy is focused on the rooting and the leaves not only on just the inflo itself...if this happens you may want to cut the inflo to send the energy elsewhere...if you have leaves and the inflo at the same time..i would leave it on and enjoy the beauty of you bloom..its a wait and see kind of struggle...
