Reporting results of 'wrapping' propagation attempts

Well, I am obviously not talented enough to propagate roses using the system of wrapping them in newspaper in the dark for 2-3 weeks. I tried this twice, trying to follow all of the instructions exactly. Used Cl Crimson Glory. 100% failure both times - I just threw out the last dead stick yesterday.

So, I am going back to my usual method (making little greenhouses out of inflated 1 gallon plastic bags, which I put on my glassed in back porch, under a small upside down glass fish tank, so that the cats can't get at them). That takes months to get results, but over 15 years I have had about a 60% success rate, so all I have to do is take 5 cuttings, and at least 3 of them always succeed. I am going to use Le Vesuve this time, as my 90-100 year old original bush is in its last legs, and I only have one bush I rooted from that one, and need another to replace the original one. Also going to still attempt to root Cl Crimson Glory for Paula.
