question about bewitched

I bought bewitched from nursery. I'm not sure if this in HT class or Floribunda roses. The tag said Hybird Tea but the bloom open bud like floribunda and the shape look kind of bushy. How can I tell?.

I'm thinking about replace this rose with Memorial day, what do you guy think?

My wife loves roses with a lot of petals count for beautiful blooming in the vase. She doesn't really care for open bud (I'm not sure if I used the right word) rose when bloom.

Anyone can tell me the different between Bewithed in HT class and Floribunda class, please?

HT Bewitched is a good cutting rose with form and fragrance, and a good rose overall. There is also a floribunda of the same name and color. You can look at the pictures on HMF and see which you have.

A recently transplanted rose may have flowers that are temporarily subpar-- smaller, fewer petals, etc.

The HT is really PINK. I like pink, we have mostly pink roses, but this rose is really solid pink and I have had it for a long time!

It is still pink.

It is better than my Eco-Friendly Grass.

I also did that to an old, very woody Penelope this spring. It had grown up to eat a five foot block wall and was definitely in decline. The only way to stimulate new basal growth and rejuvenate the plant was through major amputations. It worked! I took the whole plant down to less than two feet, fed and watered it and it now has about four feet of growth all over the plant. I need to reinforce the attachments to hold it to that wall so I can begin training it back up there. Often, it becomes a kill or cure battle. You have nothing other than time to lose by trying to cure an already dying plant. Kim

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitly go ahead and paint the sidewall of the pantry white. My wall color is also very light but I can tell the difference next to white. It will probably make the soffits look somewhat close to the cabinets anyway. I spent this evening washing all the cabinets I could reach. I'm already sore. This is going to be good exercise for me.

One thing to remember is that this house set has been dressed and redressed and redressed again, and it has been in many, many productions. It's not at all inconceivable that part of it was installed for one thing, and part for another, and no one really cared if the two sides matched. I'm pretty sure that the tile and cooktop/grill on the fireplace were put there to disguise it, not to be "logical". Sets often pull apart like a dollhouse so that they can set up shots at different angles. I'd be surprised if the counter were granite, just because they rarely used "luxury" materials, plus because it looks movable and they wouldn't want to make it heavy. It could easily be enamel painted to look like granite. In L.A. in the '60's there were plenty of the things Biochem was commenting on: Snazzy, space age appliances, bottom freezers (they've been around longer than that!), etc. Open shelves, yes. The mismatched cabinets and wallpaper that dosen't match the tile would have been fixed with a coat of paint at the very least, however. A single, tight design scheme was de rigeur, especially for the up and coming executive's home. That's why I think the decor is more about how the color temperature looks to the camera in each angle, more than anything it was trying to say about the characters' home.

Beautiful! I love that pink! What a show yours puts on. I have a tiny Bewitched that I planted in too shady of a spot before I knew better but it keeps chugging along with a couple pretty blooms every now and then.

As Michael already said Bewitched is a very good HT and also good for cutting. Cut the roses in tight bud stage as soon as the green sepals unfold.

But what a different between HT Bewitched and Floribunda Bewitched? I'm not sure what I get from nursery. If it is floribunda and not great for cutting I might just dig it out and plant in pot or give away to friend. As michael stated it is too soon to tell from newly transplanted rose if it is HT or floribunda.

Do you still have the tag? If you do, what other information is listed? HTs usually grow very tall and upright, whereas Floribundas can be shorter and fuller. Without photos it is hard for us to tell, and you really, really cannot judge from the first set of blooms.

The two year rule is a good one. It takes a while for a rose to show it's true colors, even grafted.

Frankly the FL looks a little more fluffy and a nicer color.

If you have a FL and I didn't have rampant RRD in the area I would trade you in a heartbeat.

The HT is a good one, it is just really pink.

Foghorn, I eventually got rid of Olympiad because it was just really red and always the same. However, it's impossible for a rose to be too pink.
