Some gardeners pair pink with red and splashes of white. Depending upon the red, and the pink of course, it can be a nice look. I like the look of true reds with striped roses; those that pick up the red but and add pink.

If you prefer to create a bolder look, a true red can be paired with multi-colored roses too.

I have dark red climbers. They are planted one right next to the other. I have fern leaf lavender at the foot of these roses and cut the lavender stalks. I just want the evergreen shrub. My rose bush is often in bloom and stands alone creating a wall of color. It is separated from the other grouping of roses by a tree.

As you can see, I like whites, silvers, and pale blues as cooling contrasts with my reds, and I like strong yellow-golds to compete with the hot reds. An occasional light pink rose in there gives some pleasing variety.

desertgarden, that red rose is one of my favorites: Clement's Braveheart. When it is in full bloom, it dominates that portion of the garden.

Wow, thanks all :) Pretty pretty pictures! Thanks for the ideas. I like the whites...that's a nice contrast. But I have a feeling it'll all just jumble (ever so loverly, of course ;) ) in the end, lol.
