That's when I found Marie, but she is supposed to rebloom. I'm sure mine was Marie. She matched the description in the Noella/Marie discussions on HMF. I just can't figure why she never bloomed again after her first flush for two years. I don't have her anymore, sad to say. I loved the blooms. They were really breathtaking. She wasn't stiff like other climbing HT's I've had but fairly flexible and slender. Assuming she reblooms, I would choose her especially after seeing Connie's blog pics. Lauren Ogden, a well known garden writer, seed expert, and book author is the developer of this poppy which she selected for over and over in her own garden, till she got the pure strain for Lauren's Grape seed. It's widely available now, but my favorite seeds are from the company, Renee's Garden, and they call their seeds, Lauren's Dark Grape, and it is a rich and dark color. These are annuals and bloom briefly, but the plant can fit about anywhere. The leaves are a beautiful silvery color, and I love the "pepper shaker" seed pod that develops. Let the plant reseed or gather seeds after the pod is ripe, and scatter in late winter or very early spring. Here are a couple of pics, taken by my talented granddaughter. There was a little too much sun the day these were taken. If you've seen my photos, I should mention that every one of them she photographed. I was sprinting to the check out building with my large rose , my toddler who didn't want to walk in mud in the other hand , and a gentleman opened the door for me. Turns out he is the president of the Nashville chapter . He grabbed the rose from me and was giving me the newbie rundown on roses . So we started talking and I told him I wasn't new to roses .. he invited me to the meeting the next day and was so welcoming! He then told me all new members get a rose and he had one just for me .. "lady in red! You can't get it anywhere, it's new " he said . I smiled and said I would be there ! So now I have two lady's , and I really enjoyed the meeting. There is definitely some opinions there about everything.. just like here. ;) I found out the VP lives just down the road so we are arranging to see each other's garden . I encourage you to try a meeting !! Even if I can't make every meeting, they have discounts on roses and things in the spring and I can't wait to see the open gardens people have . Sorry for the essay ! Lol...See MoreLynn-in-TX-Z8b- Austin Area/Hill Country
