I appreciated the post and explanation. It seems it would be very difficult to run a business like that, and we must remember that only these smaller ones, generally, grow and sell the more unusual roses we so crave. They seem to be family operations, and trying to juggle all of it would be really hard. RVR I didn't count the number offered, but it seems huge. Imagine trying to guess how many to propagate of which each season and the enormous amount of work in the field and possibly greenhouse, let alone the sales end of it! No complaints about RVR, and it would take a serious annoyance before I'd make a fuss publicly. But I don't think it is wrong to discuss it as long as it is just stating the facts and not intended to turn other customers whose experiences may be different away. They had what I wanted. No one else did except one I found out later in my other post going here about RVR. I have 2 Hettie and 2 Awakening I got from bands, Barden roses. They don't do well in my zone without a lot of extra fussing in the winter. BUT they seem resistant to blackspot and almost everything except Jap beetles, shiny leaves, no spraying, maybe kelp. I so wanted Marianne and Jeri but will pass now.

I have an annual ritual of not getting the rose that I want. 2009, 2010, 2011: I try to order Agatha, but can't find any available in the Americas, it's always sold out. 2012: I finally find it in stock at Hortico, and order it. Hortico sends me Harison's Yellow with an Agatha label on it. Meanwhile, Agatha has sold out. 2013: Hortico removes Agatha from their list, leaving it completely out of commerce in the Americas. Instead, I settle for the other francofurtana, Empress Josephine, from a different vendor. I order one bare root, along with a couple of other roses as filler. The filler roses survive the journey, but the Empress Josephine is dead, dead, dead. And no more until next year. 2014: I order two of Empress Josephine from yet another distant nursery, figuring that one will have to be the right rose and alive on delivery. They only have one left, however, so my order is reduced. The moment they hand my roses over to UPS, UPS decides it's too snowy to deliver anything, so leave the roses sitting in a warehouse. By the time I get them, UPS has had them for 10 days, and guess what's looking dead on arrival? So every year I wish for Agatha, settle for Empress Josephine, and get dried sticks. It's almost enough to make me like Harison's Yellow.

No Dingo, I'll show you, pictures are better than words. I'm not complaining, like I said I would much rather have them to still be here as a nursery to order from not the $5 it's just something I've noticed since 2013 or maybe earlier, when I started ordering from them sometimes it more than $5 . I think they have like a chart they go buy for so many Rose's, but when they weigh them, and get the click and ship thing, they dont notice the difference. That could be it Shelia, must be. As a matter of fact, I'm sure of it, now that you said that. As I said, no harm, I'll just get it later. Now that I think about it, James must have been good with computers. Cause I think he added Rose's to my order before. And maybe Dario doesn't know how. I sure understand, I'm not computer savvy either, but they could have just charged my card I would think, for the one rose, since it doesn't add much shipping, but its fine. He may not have thought about it like that. Ok Dingo here's a picture, just to show you. I think the highest I ever got overcharged was like $8 but never said anything. I think there system maybe outdated or something. I know it may not seem like it, and some one who doesn't know me, may think I don't like them, or I'm complaining but I really do love them, and recieve awesome plants! The only plant I ever received that was not very good looking at all was a mystery rose.. And they have a awesome collection, and do a pretty great job, keeping up with it. I think I only had two mislabeled through all the stuff I ordered from them. Now last years Rose's, I'm still waiting bloom, but I'm about positive they will be right. Anyways I hope no one thought I was complaining, just was wondering about why they couldn't add the one on, which Shelia is most likely spot on about. And was wondering if anyone had noticed the other thing. This is just me and how I talk and how I am. My DH said I come across as intimidating sometimes to people, but I dont mean to be. I use to be very shy and didn't talk much, I've changed a lot over the years. So please never take anything I ever say the wrong way, I make just speak a different kind of English, lolwell a few cents less than five dollars, but now you can understand. I was charged $47.10 for shipping, the handling fee is separate. This is the box, it it shows the price for shipping on the box of $42.36. Like I said, it doesn't matter and I have never made a deal about, just something I have noticed along time ago. I was just curious if someone else ever noticed it.

@chrissam81 I wouldn't wait until spring to check on Bill Warriner at RVR... get on the waiting list for it now. And don't hold your breath, b/c RVR has a lot of roses listed that some have been on the waiting list for years for. Bill W seems to be kind of out-of-commerce nowadays, which is terrible... it's one of my favorite roses. When I realized last year that it was extremely hard-to-find, I made 3 cuttings, but it experienced a terrible wind event in which the bag was blown over and upended. I tried to save them, but no luck. I'm encouraged that @damask_rose_zone9b had such great success with cuttings. I'll try again soon. (I don't mail cuttings, but I'm happy to share rooted roses).
