I'm convinced that the success of WWF is based on very wealthy people purchasing incredibly overpriced plants because it makes them feel as though they're ordering from what they perceive as a reputable and exclusive company. The success of this model is also based on wealthy wannabees and those who care way too much about image and money (think Hyacinth from "Keeping up Appearances"). The quality of their plants is mediocre at best and don't do what I did last year and waste a road trip up that way. I was so excited to see the gardens and what a mess! Geez. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. They really don't take very good care of those beautiful garden beds that Traci Sabato designed and created. Very sad. Who ever mentioned this is absolutely right. There are so many wonderful nurseries around. Why order from these turkeys? It's like many of the other beautiful catalogs we get ... the pics are great and they're very useful for planning and winter plant dreaming. Other than that, they're good for recycling.

Hi all... I just about froze my bulbs off outside! Its so cold! I walked to the liquor store (I'm making the wife hot buttered rum tonight!) and thought by walking I'm saving wear and tear on the car and not burning dinos... and it isn't a far walk but now I'm sooo cold! Its hard being green when you're blue. I had to go to Lowes today-- pathetic offering. Paperwhites! Pffft! I'm glad there are other double junkies. I'm not ashamed of it at all. Kristi I don't know how many bulbs I have now... when I de-potted my bulbs a bunch of babies broke off so they are technically bulbs...though not blooming size yet. They all went into a big communal pot to keep growing. I think Picotee and Ragtime both broke off two pretty big babies that I think could be blooming size in a year. I think from now on, as I grow them, I will offer up spare babies to you guys here. I just haven't the room. But I will keep just enough on hand that should one give the ghost, I'll have a spare. Off to the gym before we hit the rum ;o) Ryan

Ellen, that is great to know about the Apricot Sprite Agastache. I have had the Blue Fortune Agastache that was not hardy enough here and Honey Bee Blue Agastache which reseeded a little too much for me. Love the fragrance of the leaves! I have some seed to try this year of Lady in Red Salvia. I also saw an online herbal grower that had some of the salvias that are not hardy here for about $4.50 for a 4" plant and I may try getting a few of those in the spring. I usually have cosmos, zinnia [mine were so late blooming last year], but the foxglove died out last winter [more started]. I haven't tried cleome or red salvia yet. I will be interested to hear if your Apricot Sprite makes it through to spring. Asarum, good advice. With such high prices, I would also tend to select plants that I would have a hard time finding other places. pm2

I have, or should I say had, been a customer of White Flower farm for years. Their products were usually acceptable; however, never stellar. Usually I would lose about 50% of whatever I bought. Being an incredibly busy Psychologist in a very demanding career, I admit it was convenience that had me returning; however, each year I would buy less and less. This year I ordered around $300.00 of plants from them. I noticed immediately that shipping was very slow, and communication was zero. To make a long story short, after numerous unanswered emails I finally called. What I got was a completely unprofessional "Customer Service Representative" named "Debbie Cashman" (it was important to her that I knew her name. She even spelled it! Go figure). At any rate, she blatantly refused to let me speak with a supervisor, engaged in harassing and aggressive verbal attacks, and ultimately stated, repeatedly in fact, that she would not transfer me to a supervisor nor would she give them my name and number to call back. She told me "go ahead and call the owner. I don't care." Well, that pretty much says it all. It's doubtful that I will ever get the remaining 5 items from the order I placed in February. That's ok. I won't be back, and hopefully you won't either.
