will non-blooming daffs ever bloom again???
Comments (4)You know, I have wondered about this. What type of daffs did you move? When I moved from my old house years ago, I dug some daffs & brought with me-they were just the old fashioned type. It took 3 years for them to bloom. Now, frankly, that was several years ago & I didn't fertilize or do anything to them. I have moved old fashioned daffs since, & the same thing. Since then I have bought newer fancier daffs, divided & moved, & they always bloom the next spring. Same thing, I don't fertilize or do anything to them. I would almost have expected the opposite....See MoreShould I ever be tempted to volunteer my skills again for free-
Comments (15)Mel and Jo, I often donate my services as designer/consultant to various charitable organizations for fundraising events. In my case, it is my time and knowledge that is being provided - there are no materials in involved - and the value of those services on the open market is what I write off on my taxes. The caveat is these donations are provided for a charitable organization and they in turn provide me with a statement for tax documentation. To my knowledge, tax deductions for donations are only allowed provided they are made to a registered charity. I think you might be hardpressed justifying to the IRS that the contractor is a charitable organization should the question arise :-) Had the design been implemented, you could make a case that the value of your time and effort in creating the design could be considered marketing or advertising expense (getting your name and talents out before the public) but barring the actual implementation of the design you may be just out of luck and have to chalk it up to an unpleasant, unprofitable and time-consuming experience....See MoreMy Anthurium Was Almost Dead...Now Its ALIVE!! Comments (20)Purple, I have two other anthuriums apart from this one (Home Depot sent me a coupon for buy one plant, get one free so I got two for $10! LOL). The color of leaves on those are a lime green color. I guess it depends on the type of anthurium. I'm not an expert in the varieties but I do know that some of them are hybrid plants. Maybe nothing is wrong with your plant at all. Wndy, I have a big Peace Lily too. I have it at work under artificial light (no windows). It bloomed from when I got it (last April) until August of last year. It hasn't bloomed since then. I don't know what's wrong but my fingers are crossed like yours. Hopefully in the warmer months both mine and yours will start blooming again....See MoreAre my peonies ever going to bloom
Comments (4)Some tp's like people need to get a little age on them before they blossum. Check your fertilizer to see if your first number is higher or equal to the second. If it is change fertilizer. I am making an assumption that you use solid rather than liquid in the fall. If you are using liquid change to a solid. You may want to do a light feeding just after your normal blooming season. You may be able to see next years buds start to swell sometime this month or next. Some types will not swell until late winter....See More- 11 years ago
