Variegated, blue, and/or reddish sedum: Seeking input
Comments (5)I think September Charm (or it might be Autumn Charm) is a newer variagated "tall" sedum. Unlike Frosty Morn, it came back well this spring, never reverted and over all seems more vigorous. I popped off tops in late spring, just because of my habit of doing this to Autumn Joy and its close cousins. Stuck them in the ground. they didn't get very tall this season, but they're blooming on their wee 3 inch stems. I planted a would-be 'tapestry garden' of sedums a couple of years ago. Most disappointed. Only Angelina consistently did well. A couple of 'fulga' thrived; here and there patches of other varieties have done ok. Overall, underwhelming. idabean...See MoreHAVE: Wisteria in a pot, also some variegated sedum
Comments (1)Hi, I have tons of Agapanthus africanus. I could send you as many as you'd like, in exchange for your wisteria and/or sedum. Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Mena...See MoreBest Variegation In Taller Type Sedum?
Comments (1)Variegated Sedums have a reputation for reverting to plain green. I wouldn't waste much effort on finding or money on buying one (again.) Hopefully they're more stable than a few years ago....See MoreSedum angelina and sedum blue spruce question
Comments (14)Ken may have something there :-)) Winter cold is seldom an issue here although excessive winter moisture often is. As long as that location drains well, I would expect these plants to perk up with warmer temps and the start of the growing season. Both are tough enough plants that small bits broken off at virtually any time of year will root all on their own, soil or not! We often have 'crops' of these growing in more than 4" of coarse gravel under the nursery tables with no direct sunlight. Hugely hardy and adaptable plants!...See Moretracey_nj6
