A few q's from a newbie

After asking a neihbor what type of beautiful plant they had...we went out and bought a small leaf dwarf rhodo. I'm brand new to this and needed some help.

1) Does it need a fairly sheltered spot? I was thinking the south side of my house with bushes on the west.

2) How much sunlight is needed. It will get mostly morning sun.

3) The nursury guy said since I will be planting it near/under a red oak tree...the soil should be acidic enough and it's not necessary to add anything.

4) I'd prefer to show-off this evergreen through the winter...does it need to be wrapped?

Any help is appreciated.
