Over at Seed Exchange, I shared a story about hubby putting my seeds in a cripser drawer and most of them getting wet and moldy. I'm a new gardener and these were seeds that I had been sent and seeds I bought last year. Anyway, BAKEMOM told me to come here and let everyone know that she sent me here for help in replacing some of my seeds.

I have a small wish list up, I know there are gamillions of plants out there I haven't seen. But being new, I just listed ones that I have seen that I liked.

I have really enjoyed looking at the pics everyone has listed on this site and readying so so so many posts.

I have a huge yard, and hopefully some day, it will look like something to be proud of.

Hi decohouse,

Not sure what seeds you are looking for. I received a couple packets of seeds that need full sun which I don't get a lot of in my yard. I have tickseed and bachelor buttons if you are interested.

Thanks everyone! pecanpie- purr fect pet- LOL love it, funny! flyleft- our local shelter runs a website updated every 20 minutes, they detail photo (usually) age/sex etc and temperment/overview including things like 'not suitable with children' 'used to dogs'. I started looking on the website about 8 weeks ago and when he came up I thought he sounded like he had a great personality. They close for the public at 4.30pm Friday and this was 10 to 5pm Friday. Needless to say we were there waiting at 10.30 on the dot Saturday waiting for them to open! DD clicked with him straight away and when I explained the situation the staff thought he'd be perfect. The funny thing that happened was another different cat came up to DD at the cage door and was all gooey and purring and the staff we amazed as this other cat apparently hates children! LOL my DD is a cat magnet! Bill- siamese? his eyes are quite oriental -and yes flyleft he is a talker. Thanks for all the well wishes! Em and DD

Well, I needed some vibes and I sure got them! You're all amazing. (a la HGTV: Auh-MAY-zing!) It's actually in my elbows, which is radiating down between the forearm bones. In a way, thank GOD it's not carpel tunnel or in my wrists. OTOH, I teach therapeutic yoga and have things to help relieve CT, but you're right. The joints are too stressed. My muscles can handle lifting these stupid doors. My joints and tendons aren't as strong. I recall feeling my left shoulder separate, which thank goodness healed, but my right elbow is the workhorse. I've been fighting the idea of rest because I just don't have that option as a whole. OTOH, I just this second remembered I"m going to visit my mom on Sunday for 4 days. I don't have any doors to lift until then, and my drill can wait. Meganmca, I also sleep on my side with my head on my arm, arm outstretched. Earlier, I realized I can't have the forearm hanging off the edge of the bed or I'm crippled from gravity the next day. Now I'm trying not to straighten it. I'm not a fan of braces, either, although to restrict movement, vs. supporting a weak muscle is pretty OK. Unfortunately, I'm way past that. As far as shots? Not if I can avoid them. I also deal with students who've masked their pain and done so much more damage. Once you get a shot, people seem to become reliant on them. Baltra, you teach yoga? I cannot tell you how many times I have to say that to my students. In sports? Pain, no gain! In yoga? Pain? No gain. Ci_Lantro? I've heard of Tiger Balm. I'll look for it. Arnica is fabulous for the muscular part of this, also. Rhome410, are you actually suggesting something so radical and heretical as me sitting still? Are you INSANE? Hell might freeze over. And I will just not be held responsible for global climate changes! Lazygardens, that's a nightmare! Not only am I working inside, I'm a gardener tentatively returning to my gardens after couple of years of Twilight Zone emotional trauma. There's as much to be done outside as there is inside, of not more. I hope you're improving, vs just in a holding state of nerve and tendon damage. How awful. catlover5, pets are my saving grace. My little stinkers. If I do sit still, it's because on is in my lap. I learned a long time ago that their time with me can be brief, so if one wants some loving and petting, everything else in this world can just keep their pants on and wait until they're done. I don't put them down, I don't shoo them away. They are my peace, where my gardens used to be. You guys could all be star yoga students in your united advice. What kills me is that you're telling me stuff I already know [smacking head with hand] As I have a nice, big, glass of red wine. Did I mention BIG? Bless your hearts and thank you.

Thanks everyone. I am so happy with the new seam so I shouldn't beat a dead horse but REALLY, if they could do it perfectly the second time around they could have done it perfectly the first time around. It would have saved me a lot of mental anguish. I truly never worried at all about the fabrication as their reputation is top notch. They do most of the granite in very high dollar homes in our area. I could only recommend them with the caveat that the client is present during the templating process. I believe that what happens there is that they are both the stone yard and fabricator. So the first person who has their granite cut from the slab lot gets near perfection. To save money they probably use pieces of previous slabs within the same lot so each person down the line has a lesser chance of a perfect job. I don't think that there is anything wrong with them using pieces, if that is indeed what they do, however they still need to make sure the job is right even if it means cutting into a new slab to get a good match. What makes me think this is what happens is that my saleslady told me they used two slabs for my job and using more slabs wouldn't have made a difference. I beg to differ but that is a story for another day. Anyway the bottom line is I just need to let it go, move on, and be grateful that it's right!

Don't know exactly what a "ghost" is, but I do think (even as a professional scientist) there are things we cannot always understand, of a nature we might call supernatural. . 1) I am a Pagan and a Wiccan. Yes it is NOT contradictory. My parents were out of town for a long weekend and I (while freshly employed was still searching for my first home - mid 1980s). So, I was doing a house cleansing. The only other sentient form of life in the house they had then was our cat, who was sleeping on my bed. (Okay there were mice in the drop ceilings downstairs.. at least at one point.) I went through the house banishing unhappy & unpleasant energies. Now, "feeling" things shift really means nothing when it comes to determine reality or verifiable proof, as I very well understand. I left the laundry region of the house. Suddenly, I heard something crash behind me. To explain the laundry facility. It wasn't something that would fly in ideal GW/H design, but there was a stackable washer/drier, and at least 4 feet away was the cat's litter box. Earlier, I'd put a heavy duty plastic glass atop the dryer part, centered. One of those with a double shell so you can keep beverages cold longer. Shortly later, I came back - that plastic glass was sitting in the litter pan. I checked on the cat - HE hadn't moved. There were no air currents in that room. I was home alone, and I can't picture any resident mice doing this! Four feet? Was glad I was doing the cleansing. 2) Mom passed away on the Ides of March, 2001. Dad was an avowed agnostic seriously verging on atheist. Their anniversary was May 17th, and would have been 51 years of them being married. On May 16th the kitchen clock they'd bought together stopped working. It was electric, no batteries. He showed me on the 17th when I'd come over to be with him on the anniversary. He didn't unplug it. On the 17th, 48 hours after the clock had stopped, it began ticking and keeping time again. I think this kept him being more agnostic than atheist for the next decade. But I am not really sure what he thought as he eventually developed dementia. Not my story, but I believe my friends. M & T lived in an old 40s apartment complex, seriously falling part. This was in the late 60s or maybe 1970. They had little income, and the landlord was trash. The apartment had a doorbell that did not work. The place was heated by gas. One night in the middle of the night, they were wakened by the sound of the (non-workable) doorbell ringing. They awoke and noticed something was wrong. There was a whiff of gas. They got out of there, and raised the alarm for everyone else. Yes, there was a serious gas leak that otherwise might have killed them. Also while they lived there (before and after that happened) they had a cat that kept rubbing itself up against non-existent legs. They did some research on the building, and discovered something to the effect that the original architect had built this complex early in his careet, and had done his best to make it the best place possible. He'd died young. My friends believed that his spirit still hung around and provided their timely escape from deadly poisoning. ^^^^ What do I think about things? I am willing to entertain various explanations, but I don't really think science is quite ready to explain it all. (But what science does, it can do well.)

You all are so kind and generous! I am going to answer the emails today that I haven't got to. I went through the ruined seeds last night and added them to the bottom of my want list so you can see what seeds it was I lost. I am new to this whole gardening thing, so I'm not sure yet what I like and what I don't like - I'm sure there are many more that I DO like though. lol.

Just looked at your list and you lost so many seeds!! I'm so sorry; it must have been very upsetting. I am new to winter sowing, but the people on this forum have been wonderful and I have seeds to share. Send me your info and I'll mail some extras to you.

I'm so disorganized I had seeds in all kinds of bubble envelopes. Seeing your post made me go through them again and this time I better get them organized.

When I saw "whining" going on I figured I'd happily engage vicariously...LOL.

Lucky for my you posted that your hubby had put seeds in hydrator drawer and they got moldy because that's where I was going to put my seed packets in glass jars! Nix on that idea...this would be way for me to repay the favor provided by your loss!

I've never shared seeds before because I worry that I may not have stored them properly and/or they weren't ripe enough when I collected them. Would feel terrible if seeds failed for recipient.

Just send me your address if you want anything I have and I'll mail to you in bubble envelope.

You all are wonderful..did I say that already? Well, you are. I am leaving this evening going out of town until Sunday. I've tried to answer everyone, and hope I haven't missed anyone, but I'll double check myself when I get back.
