RU Sale -- July 1- 15

Roses Unlimited has just posted notice online of a sale beginning today, ending July 15. ALL one-gallon plants in their current inventory are priced at $10 each + shipping.

This isn't the greatest time of the year for shipping own-roots, but midsummer orders I've received from RU in the past have 'weathered' the trip quite well -- even once when they were left setting boxed and unnoticed on the porch for an avoidable 24 hours.

Hmmm . . . Pat's got to have a few roses I want. Problem is, do I have room for a few more of Pat's roses? It's kind of too bad that nothing around here has (yet) been earmarked for SP-ing this fall . . .

Fortunately, although my order for next year looks like all from RU, presently I am relatively destitute, so the order will have to wait. Esp. as they don't take credit cards.

Am in the same SP position as you, plus I have not yet prepared the space for the 8 planned acquisitions.

Hmm . . . RU used to be really very good about returning emails. I sent an email to RU many wks ago inquiring about their observation of differences between 'Mlle Franziska Kruger' and 'Souve d'Elise Vardon'. I think they're the only nursery that lists both of those two. Like Sherry, I never got a reply. Perhaps business is lively, they're very busy & haven't time to bother with emails. Off-putting . . .

Don't think I wasn't tempted. After it took me a week to place the last rose I had, I can't think about buying more :)

My list is actually embarrassingly long. I can't turn down $10 roses. I especially was pleased to get Barni and Delbard roses, which are usually $20 and $18.

But it is toooooo hot to plant!
