Need evergreen shrub/tree suggestions

I posted this on the shrub forum as well. I appreciate any help or suggestions.

In the photo, you'll see the 3 japonicas. This is off the left front corner of my house. I planted a diablo ninebark in between the far left and middle japonica.

I would really appreciate some suggestions for an evergreen to put behind the remaining japonicas. This would be directly to the left of the house, in full sun, all day. I am in southwestern pa, just east of pittsburgh.

I also need something that is deer resistant and tolerant to wind as this will likely exposed to wind during the winter.

I want something that will get some height to it. I know most evergreens will continously grow, I don't mind pruning it back. The greater concern is that it will be near the foundation. I initially considered a pyramidal shape but not sure if that will be too harsh as right off the corner of the house. So more cone like might be better? maybe more than one? I'm lost and such a newbie at this.

I really like the oak leaf holly. I considered the emerald green arb. but they are very common around here and was looking for something a little different. There were quite a few cedar varieties that looked nice. There are just some many options that I am getting myself overwhelmed and not getting much work done b/c I'm on the internet!

A Steeds Holly might be nice, they have that conical shape you mentioned. They are a soft touch holly, (no points, no berries) But I personally love Euonymous. There are a lot of varieties to choose from these days. I am partial to the green spire, which grows moderately quickly and keeps a columnar form. There are a lot of variegated varieties as well if you are looking for a little more color. Depending on the variety they can get quite large, which would help provide some shade for your Pieris. And they're hardy!

I have seen some beautiful pictures of a single large pink Tree peony surrounded by boxwood, and another surrounded by yews. I would think something like Buxus 'Green Mountain' would be nice. Nothing particularly special, but tough, reliable, easy to trim, fairly fast growing for a boxwood, etc. And Green Mountain would 'max out' at about that height you want. I have grown them in all kinds of different areas and they always do well here. Also the fine leaf texture would go well with the luxuriant Tree Peony foilage. just my opinion of course. I was just looking up shrubs for my yard, and like you, I don't know much about shrubs. I was perusing a nursery catalog, and came across the Pieris shrub (I like the Mountain Fire cultivar). Very stunning, and will grow probably to 5' tall depending on your region, and looks like it would grow best in some shade. A stunning shrub.

Try a Galvezia: tough as nails, drought tolerant, bright red snapdragon blooms beloved of hummers. These are the best: 'Boca Rosa' - forms a dense mound with arching stems reaching to 4 feet tall. In the summer through early fall it produces tubular bright red flowers which are flared at the lip, resembling small snapdragon flowers. Plant in full sun to moderate shade in well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant, especially if planted in shade. foliage is a larval food source for our local Checkerspot butterfly. Prune occasionally for denser growth 'Firecracker' is more compact.

I am going to try the link again, let me know if this works.

I am interested in both of your suggestions lenten rose lizzy. Is the holly deer resistant? in your experience, how big does the green spire get. some of the online research indicates it's in the 4-6 ft range which is a little smaller than I would want.

possibly a VERY cold hardy variety of American Holly. I have one which is about 20 feet after 30 years. Best if on the north side of the house just far enough away to get near fill summer sun but close enough such that the house shades it in the winter when the sun is low in the sky. Deer don't eat mine.
