I am up to 107, so just barely in the club but I've gotten a later start this year!76 milk/water gallon jugs and 31 plastic salad/cookie boxes. I think I have at least that much again to do in packets of perennials and hardy annuals and then another 50 -100 in annuals a bit later. Where will they go? I try not to think about it!!!

I told myself at the beginning of the season I'd only plant about 50 maybe 75 at the most. Today I broke 100! Thanks to all of the enablers here at GW. I also discovered seed swaps thanks to Token, after 4 of those I don't even know how I'm going to get everything sown on time.

Now I'm in the club. Haven't been a member of one since my high school science club.

I quit counting. But I know there's more than 100 out there. I've got 174 2-liters with no sprouts at all yet.

I'm getting ready to smash the Mile High barrier - this weekend I'll start on my annuals so I'll probably be looking at 200 plus containers when I've finished. I wish I had Token's "problem" of too many :-)

wasted all winter....didn't plant a formed thing.just found about WS.tomorrow i will start some seeds in a gallon milk jug.I thimk the wife is a little upset that I poured out milk.guess I should have saved it in pitcher.

wow i'm out of breath.just sowed my first jug with seed.I'm really excited about it,I planted premium seed,my wife thinks I'm crazy but just wait till she see's all those little birds, she'll change her tune then.She calls me her 'favorite flower' but wont say which one it is...

I have 230 planted of which 100 have already sprouted. Does that make me a double mile-higher?

I haven't counted but I am well over 100...denial is my friend. An exact number might make me realize how I'm going to need to take a month off work to plant out. Lots of sprouts going on!

Finally hit 110 today. Hoping to start some of my annuals this week.

gumpusmc,a couple of weeks ago, I needed the milk carton,so I poured the milk into a soda bottle, hubby went to pour some soda, and, yep, he almost dropped the bottle,"What the heck is in here" when I told him I needed the milk carton,and that what he just poured was milk, he just shock his head at me and laughed.
It really was kinda funny.

Gardenluv - planting out last year was pretty fast. The beds were all prepped in the fall and I just had to puff the soil in the spring. Then it was all plunking and running.

This year it will be wedging stuff in and running.

Finally made it today - 107. Had to get busy and plant seeds from seed exchange I just received. I've only planted out about 5 so far. Am waiting for 2nd set of leaves on tomatoes and then I can free up more containers!!!

I'm at 254 containers as of today. That's down from 327 at this time from last year.

BUT

by the time dark falls on April 30th, I expect the container count to come to a grand total of at least 500.

Now that's way down from my first few years when I was doing well over a 1,000.

the goal was to keep dropping the number of containers and this year I think I'll reach the goal of staying at no more than 500 containers.

We shall see.

A woman at work decided YESTERDAY she wants to start WS right away. I described the
460!!!
milk jugs lined up both sides of my breezeway and around the side of the garage to her and she's rarin' to go. Anybody know where I can get arabis (rock cress) seeds? That's what she wants to WS right away. She was going home today and dump the milk out of the jug in her 'fridge. I've still got seeds I can give her that don't need cold stratification (I think). If anyone has excess seeds I can give her, let me know & I'll send postage/SASBE. We may as well enable another one!!
Oh, and I've got several lupine sprouts potted up to share with folks at work who believed in me back in November when I told them I was going to winter sow.

Go to home depot or lowes, I found rock cress there this year, I wanted some for my rock wall.

I fell 20 containers short of the 100 container mile high club climax. I guess I had premature e-sprout-ulation!

Wow....I am overwhelmed just thinking about 1,000 (!) containers! I maxed at 104, but am proud to say that "only" 74 remain to be planted out. I am already wedging seedlings in wherever I can, I have no idea how I'll fit them. Considering that I live in town and only have a 4650 sq ft lot (including the footprint of the house and garage), I have a whole lot of seedlings to find room for! Better get back outside laying stone for my potager so I have somewhere to put the rest of this stuff! And...I didn't even WS veggies because I realized I was in over my head. LOL.
