Looking ahead: What to do with potted Chinese redbud this year?

Hi all,

This spring, I ordered a Chinese redbud Don Egolf. When it arrived, it was smaller than I had expected (I misread or ignored the description online), so rather than plant a 6" tall twig in my front yard, I shifted it to a larger pot and have let nature take its course.

The plant has added a couple of inches and is more robust, but it still is only about 10" tall. I'm thinking it probably wouldn't be wise to plant it outside this fall, but since I'm such a novice I'd like to hear from more experienced gardeners.

Should I plant it, leave it potted outdoors or bring the potted plant into a sunroom (its temps bounce between the high 50s and low 70s during the winter months)?
