Wish I could go but I'm on the west coast. You guys are lucky to have so many clubs and vendors out your way. If you go please take lots of pics for us!

California no longer has any commercial vendors ..sniff.. sniff :0(

You got it--The only reason we're going is 'cos we were asked to photograph it!

(Well Ok, we WANTED to go before we were asked, but didn't have the funds... But since we got asked, we're looking for spilled coins in the sofa!)

Oakley - you can see - we are all hoarders! The one exception - is Larry - Minimac gave you a link that show his shelves in a living room. I would say it is a perfect arrangement - you can grow and see your plants at the same time. And Larry refuses to get more plants than he can comfortably grow well and enjoy. I would say - it is a great addition to the room. I would add a top guards on the shelves- so then you do not see the tubes themselves. Irina

Awww Anne,,,,,you're welcome!! You know, I look at it all the time and it is not that I don't like it. I don't know what the issue is. Never did that with a plant before. Especially a violet!!!!! Well, I think that piece would have broken off all by itself had I not done it on purpose! (oops!!!! did I say that out loud????) Well, I knew you liked it and honestly you don't know how close you came to getting the entire plant!!! Seriously! But glad the piece is doing well for you! I do hope this week is better for you. Slooooow down and take it easy. You know you are also recovering from knee surgery. They say it takes at least a year!!!! I know you are walking well etc, but you also need to take it easy sometimes!!!!! THAT is where eye candy comes in!!!!! (and this forum!!) lol Tomorrow is plant day for me. Gonna work on my plants and go as far as I can. Maybe even take a few pix! If I do I will post them. Rosie

A. - check both websites - avsa.org and gesneriadsociety.org for VENDORS All of them ship =so even you do not plan to travel - you can get everything by ordering - and right now it will be cheaper - no need for winter packaging. To my regret I never visited The Violet Gallery - the owners are great people and I see them on conventions with a very good selection of plants. But I made it to the Violet Barn 3 years ago - and the drive is terrific - Finger Lakes, Bristol mountains - to die for - and everything at their shop is so well organized - zillions of perfect blooming minis and the sunroom with lush blooming Ma's standard AVs on the middle table and gorgeous kohlerias, columneas and whatnot closer to the windows. Dora--Nope and nope. Hopefully someday, but for right now we do it for free... Well not just free, we actually pay a lot in gas traveling to get them done LOL

Not very bright of us, really.. But we do love doing it, and hope that one day we'll get paid at least our travel expenses... Who knows.

I'm working on 'em, I promise! It's taking a bit longer than usual 'cos I'm at Lenny's and we have to share the computer..

HOPING I get them all edited before we leave for MAAVS on Friday, 'cos after that there's just gonna be another batch to edit, and I really don't wanna be doing 2 at once.

Get on the ball Marmie, your fans are waiting to see them. Also the new person who is taking over the Tristate newsletter wants to put some of them in the next newsletter. Will she be able to pick them off the site or will you have to send them to her via private email?

Haha I swear I'm working onh it, but they're definitely not gonna get done before MAAVS, so my "fans" (ha) will have to wait a bit longer.

Tell the person taking over Tristate newsletter to email me, I'm having trouble keeping track of individual request stuff from a million people and need 'em all in one spot. :-)
