I would let it soak till at least Sat., then if you talk to your friend and tell her/him that you have a rose for them and ask what they would like you to do with it. Once it is potted it should be ok to plant it again in its permanent home. The roses we buy already potted have started their life out at one time being bareroot so I am sure Illusion should be ok. good luck. Valerie

LOL gottagarden! I'm sure I'll find some toys frozen in place when I go outside too. My husband picked up a bunch of stuff around the kids' playhouse in the fall, but there are always refugees hidden around the yard. I pruned my black currant bushes and my monster rose ('Othello') on Saturday - it felt so GOOD to do some "real" gardening on a comparatively warm day. I'll do some more today. I just bought another bag of ProMix to continue winter sowing, too. I think I'll treat myself to an evening of winter sowing tonight. I saw my first asiatic lilies poking up yesterday - HOORAY! And my crocuses and daffodils are well on their way. Spring is coming, among the piles of dirty melting slush and ice. One warm week, and all that should be gone down here, I hope. I'm going to be a gardening dervish for a few weeks. I'm having surgery in mid-April, and I'll be out of commission for a couple weeks afterwards. I want to get as much of my heavy yard work as possible DONE before then - all my edging and mulching. Then I can relax instead of looking out my window thinking, "YUCK, I wish I'd mulched/pruned/edged that earlier." Laurel

I got out to cover my most favorite hostas, clematis, and my stocktanks that are home to my lotus. It was upper 20's last night with light snow. I actually think the light snow/water helped the leaves to keep from freezing. As it turned out, the stuff that wasn't covered appeared to do just as well as the covered stuff! I think we're going to make it. YAY! Hope the rest of you did as well.

Looks like a leak under the tiles to me, and moisture has wicked up through the tiles. Is the grout chipped or broken anywhere in the area? Or, did the renters have a bathmat right there that was always wet - with a rubberized back that they never picked up to let dry naturally? I had a mat like that once, just outside the shower. I didn't pick it up for a week one time, and the grout and tile underneath had the beginnings of mildew. I never did get it all off.
